    That is very possible. The boat safety course has a section about not letting anyone swim around boats in a marina for that very reason. Tom B. (LongLine)

    If you're going to put the crimp between the legs of the black's release on an un-coated cable, you'll need something bigger than the standard rigger crimp. I buy foot long pieces of 1/16" copper tubing at Home Depot & cut it about 1/2" long. When it crimps, it's much bigger than the holes in the release and won't slip thru. On coated wire I sometimes do the same or I use an electrical crimp which are crimped on top of a plastic tube ( like what comes on a can of WD-40 spray) Doesn't hurt the coated cable at all as the plastic extends thru the release legs.     Actually the only cure for sea-sickness is to find an 18" diameter Oak or Maple tree and hug the "heck" out of it for about 2 minutes. Tom B. (LongLine)

    I can make that for you out of wood but I would strongly advise against using wood. The pipe will eventually crush the wood grains and go out of shape. Also swelling and contraction will be a problem. Tom B. (LongLine)

    You'd save yourself a lot of anxiety if you use a rigg'r board. Mount your rigg'rs on the board. Have you board screw down into the tracks if you like. Remove the whole thing when/if you want a "clean" gunwale. Tom B. (LongLine)

    This time of year, a look at surface temps will give you an indication of upwellings. Best to go by down temps to fish the right depth. Tom B. (LongLine)

    I asked him if it was a long distance call. He said yes, so I put the phone (land line) on a chair & let him talk while I fed the dogs . He hung up after a couple minutes. Tom B. (LongLine)

    Your release is catching on the coil wrapping of the wire & when the ball spins, it spins also. The Blacks should be above the cable/cannonball swivel. To do this, cut the swivel off, cut the wire off the Black's. String your cable thru the holes in the release. Place a crimp between the legs( to pin it in place). Re-attach the swivel with appropriate crimps. Tom B. (LongLine)

    The extra weight is taking the line way below the plane of the diver. Consider putting an extra swivel on the diver where you attach the line. (so your line clears the rim of the diver as it is tilted in the water.) Tom B. (LongLine)

    Welcome to the site. Right now it's tough on everyone. A lot of guys staying less than 10 FOW looking for Lakers & browns. Some reports of the salmon out deep but really not that many.
