I can make that for you out of wood but I would strongly advise against using wood. The pipe will eventually crush the wood grains and go out of shape. Also swelling and contraction will be a problem.

You'd save yourself a lot of anxiety if you use a rigg'r board. Mount your rigg'rs on the board. Have you board screw down into the tracks if you like. Remove the whole thing when/if you want a "clean" gunwale.

If you know a person is apt to get sea-sick, let them drive the boat. It gives them something to concentrate on rather than the motion of the boat.

This time of year, a look at surface temps will give you an indication of upwellings. Best to go by down temps to fish the right depth.

I asked him if it was a long distance call. He said yes, so I put the phone (land line) on a chair & let him talk while I fed the dogs . He hung up after a couple minutes.

Your release is catching on the coil wrapping of the wire & when the ball spins, it spins also.
The Blacks should be above the cable/cannonball swivel. To do this, cut the swivel off, cut the wire off the Black's. String your cable thru the holes in the release. Place a crimp between the legs( to pin it in place). Re-attach the swivel with appropriate crimps.

The extra weight is taking the line way below the plane of the diver. Consider putting an extra swivel on the diver where you attach the line. (so your line clears the rim of the diver as it is tilted in the water.)

Welcome to the site. Right now it's tough on everyone. A lot of guys staying less than 10 FOW looking for Lakers & browns. Some reports of the salmon out deep but really not that many. I think last couple of years have spoiled all of us. Check thru the report sections & good luck.

Welcome to the site. I'm guessing they're deep but high in the water column. Haven't been out in a while myself. Not to many being caught right now.

Well the 1st day of summer – Yay! Put in at the river just at daybreak.
River surface just about 70F. Dead calm. Quite a bit of cloud cover over land. Took a left at the pierheads, again. Headed out to 90 FOW & pointed outward. Quite a few prop busters on the way out there, so be careful.
Got everything set up and…
Water was going nuts! I must have started out in the middle of an upwelling/downwelling. Very strange for such a calm day. I didn’t want to believe the speed changes on the probe but the light rigger cable angle changed a few times too.
Major scum line in 108 FOW.
Another, although minor & spread out from 130-140 FOW. Bait pods all over the place outside the 1sr scum line and they were tightly balled up. Fairly shallow too. Tops anywhere from 22 to 40 down.
Anyways…what worked? The truck worked. The boat worked. The sonar worked. The GPS worked. The rigg’rs worked.
What didn’t work? About 2 Grand in fishing lures didn’t work!
No fish today. That’s why it’s called fishing & not catching. Oh, well, very peaceful out there & still beats working. Pulled them up around 10. Maybe 7 trailers in the lot.
Luck to all, there's always next weekend.
