Hey Chas - Quite a post for someone who initially stated he didn't want to start a gun debate. I guess you don't count the cops that get killed every year. I wonder if the criminals knew the 72 officers killed in 2011 were armed. Also please get your facts straight. During the revolutionary war, the citizens were the soldiers and had to supply their own weapons. BTW the constitution was ratified after the war and our founding fathers wrote most of it from their experiences. i.e soldiers supplying their own weapons, Militias fighting the British empire, British quartering troops in citizen's homes, etc. Nobody is trying to dis-arm you. You can have your pistol, you can have your shot gun, you can have your hunting rifle. You can have your knife, your can even have your 2 1/2 gal gas can. It just shouldn't be so easy to get a weapon that so many maniacs have knowingly used to easily kill so many people with. We're already being tracked. In fact everything we all ever posted/emailed is recorded someplace. After a tragedy, that's the first thing the law enforcement looks at. Sometimes even before a tragedy. Hmmm....could the nut case have stabbed 12 people to death from 40 ft away?.....hmmmmm? The fact is a gun was used and the logical thing to address is the tool. Welcome to site. Fishing license required. Safety gear depends on size of boat. Better to be too safe than sorry. Watch the sky/weather. Troll on the fast side. Put some "outlandish" colors out there. Try to stay outside of any pack of boats. Don't get to close to other guys. 3 lines allowed per angler, 15 hook points maximum on each line. It's perfectly legal to ship lead in New York. What's illegal is to use any packaging materials that contain lead. i.e. the box, paper, wrapping tape, string, etc. cannot contain lead. The packaging materials eventually end up in a dump somewhere and that's what the environmentalists are all worried about. It is however, expensive to ship regular mail as it's heavy. Tom B. The end where the eyes are closest to is the front. Originals came with a barrel swivel and a double hook attached on the front split ring. Trailing hooks was a treble. Spinner sounds like it may be a June-bug type, but would have to see a picture. The red eye wigglers originally came in Silver plate (real silver), gold and copper. (I still have a couple in my box - near and dear to me) In my collection, I also have 5 wooden flatfish from the 40's and some real ABU spinners from the early 50's. All near & dear to me. Tom B. Silver bullet J-plug is an old standby & still popular today. Hofschnieder used to make the redeye wiggler which is still a great pike & walleye lure. I think made by eppinger today. If you have one stamped by hofschnieder, it's definitely "vintaqe." Tom B. (LongLine)
