  1. Happy B'day Tom Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Because it's a state issued certificate and the proposal says fees will be charged. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2 ... d-boy.html http://www.navytimes.com/news/2007/03/c ... s_070329w/ And these specially trained guys are exempted? Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. Boat safety is a good thing, however they were sure to include a paragraph about fees which I think is just a money grab. If enacted, it should apply to all boats, not just motor boats. That exclusion for small boats or electrics is pure bull. Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. The only way i could get the tube back in on my little merc was to pull the side cover off and have my son guide it in with a hooked wire. I tried to push it in place first but then getting it into the pump was a pain. Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. Make sure that dam water tube is seated in the block fitting properly. Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. Welcome to the site Frank. Always good to have more "left coasters" on here. (Helps to keep stan honest) Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. I started out with a 14 ft aluminum boat with a 7.5 mercury many moons ago. I had a rigg'r mounted within my reach and would drag some silver flatfish around I-Bay outlet way before it had that bridge & channel. I was one of the few that could actually get out into the lake from I-bay. It was a blast at the crack of dawn. "Rigg'rs - don't leave home without them." Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. A 12 Lb torpedo will give you less blowback than a 12 lb ball. I'd advise not going any heavier than 14 on the manual rigg'r. (I run my own 14 Lb missles on manuals and it is work when you get below that 100 ft mark) Tom B. (LongLine)
  10. Happy B'day Brian. Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. Your board is not the cause. Cord/mono could be. Mono stretches. If it still happens with the tow line then after you've let your release out, say to port, then just very slightly turn to port and the drag from the lure will pull it right out. My tow lines are usually tied off at about 42" above water line & have never had problems getting them out to the board. (50-60 ft out) One other tip, when letting them slide out, keep your rod tip high. Tom B. (LongLine)
  12. My comment. Hope you guys have taken the time to read the objectives & submit comments. Tom B. (LongLine)
  13. I'd of asked how much do 10 cold cranking amps weigh? Definitely have it load checked. Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. 20% Red, 40% Black & 40% Silver. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Top - In general, medium size spoons (3-31/2) & flies for salmon. They like flash. Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. CF - one technigue to try is to chuck that spoon as far as you can; let out slack so it settles towards bottom; keep rod tip low; reel slowly & slowly raise tip overhead; slow retrieve and lower tip to water, repeat during retrieve. This will give lure and up & down motion in the water. Works where bottom is sandy such as I-bay & Summerville. (Webster is rocky) cast perpendicular, parrallel & at 45 deg to your spot (as long as no one else is within 100 ft of you) Move 20 ft out & try again. Best to be out early. Good luck Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. You could also try Irondequoit Bay channel lakeside or go out to Webster park. Toss some heavy spoons that give you some distance such as lil cleo's, Krockadiles etc. (orange, silver, occasionally a blue) Good luck, Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. This is very interesting reading and provides some insight as to where the fishery is headed. I strongly urge you guys to take a few moments to read it. Tom B. (LongLine)
  19. Happy B'day Jeremy Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. Jan 2012 Monthly highlights from NYSDEC Fish, Wildlife, & Marine resources finally on line. Interesting blurbs about the Ciscos, trib survey, maps & Hatchery staffing. http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf ... lights.pdf Tom B. (LongLine)
  21. Definitely nice Browns. WTG Tom B. (LongLine)
  22. I run the sub-T. 150 Lb is good. DON'T get the heavier 200 Lb...Blowback is a bit'h with that stuff. I've been down 120 ft with no loss of signal. (I don't think I've ever fished deeper than that) Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. Anyone whose initials are "T&A" deserves a happy day. Happy Birthday. Tom b. (LongLine)
  24. Basically it prohibits the feds from restricting hunting & fishing on Federal land for the heck of it. Only under 'sound science" & hard evidence/justification can they prohibit hunting & fishing. They have to publish any closings in the Federal Register. Also they cannot require a federal license. (however states still can) Hunting & fishing is not given a priority over other things such as the "local pinic area". (my words) At a quick glance, I didn't see anything in it that hurts the sportsman. Tom B. (LongLine)
  25. Some came with solid 2ft booms and some came with 2 ft booms that telescope out to 5 ft. Tom B. (LongLine)
