  1. Do you mean you turned the ignition to the on position or you had the engine running at home when you saw it was being drawn down? 1. Are you sure you're charging? 2. Many electronics, i.e. Fish finders, radios, GPS etc have memories & will draw some power even though you have them switched off. I had to put in some isolation switches. 3. Did you check every wire for fraying or cracks, etc? Did you pull fuses from holders & check for corroision? 4. Call Hank Tom B. (LongLine)
  2. Problem is that it's real shallow out past casting distance & gaining access thru the houses may be a real challenge. I'd suggest the Summervile pier (Genny) or Irondequoit outlet. Both have good access, plenty of parking and will have the specie you're looking for. Tom B. (LongLine)
  3. Always keep an eye on the weather and use common sense no matter what size boat you have. That rig should handle nicely out there for the majority of the time. Watch out for the nor'easters - They cause some big bumps all along the southern shore. Tom B. (LongLine)
  4. What you gon'na use for a transom? Tom B. (LongLine)
  5. Adam - On a single rigg'r run the bottom one longer than the top. If a fish sees the top one but shys away, he'll probably sink down a little & whammo - he'll see the bottom one. With clean spoons, 5-7 ft apart should be fine. If you're running a flasher/fly, give it a little more space. Tom B. (LongLine)
  6. The reel is more important than the rod. As long as you have a smooth drag & lots of line you'll be fine. I've used 6 ft'rs to 8 ft'rs - Cherrywoods, Graphites, glass & composites but the biggest difference was when I invested in some good reels. Tom B. (LongLine)
  7. Congratulations. Hope she likes to fish. Tom B. (LongLine)
  8. Happy B'day S-Shot. Tom B. (LongLine)
  9. Welcome to the site. Where abouts you going to be? N, S, E or West? It's a big lake. Best bet is to hit the streams/river/bay mouths early. Water is very warm nearshore on the south & east side. Salmon should start sniffing their home streams any day now but won't stay shallow very long. Tom B. (LongLine) BTW - NY has a two line per person law right now & you must be in immediate attendance of them.
  10. So send in the emails to link on page 7- the clock is ticking! Tom B. (LongLine)
  11. Kind of neat seeing that. Thanx for posting the pics. When was Hurricane Agnes? '72? Tom B. (LongLine)

  13. Happy B'day ST. Tom B. (LongLine)
  14. If the weight has any kind of fin then it is advised to place the release above it. Additionally any kind of flasher should also be run w/release above any kind of weight. Tom B. (LongLine)
  15. Before we get our tail feathers in a tizzie – check out what the bill says, not just what the media says: 1st from the press release itself: http://www.nysenate.gov/press-release/s ... egislation Then the actual bill (my underline) http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/S5844-2011 Tom B. (LongLine)
  16. It might not be the connection to the battery but rather the conection of the wire to the connector. Tom B. (LongLine)
  17. Above the weight. You're asking for problems if you attach to the weight as the drag from the line & lure will tend to steer the weight. Tom B. (LongLine)
  18. I assume you've made a permanent connection of your probe to your cable. If so, be carefull how tight you tape it. Too tight a wrap or too much tape will inhibit how it tilts in the water with any kind of blowback. If probe is not level, paddlewheel may not be functioning correctly. Tom B. (LongLine) p.s. the wheel is on correctly, right?
  19. The coffee works - It seems like everytime I take a leak the rigg'r fires. Tom B. (LongLine)
  20. For anyone wishing to email the govenor, here's the quick message link: http://www.governor.ny.gov/contact/Gove ... ctForm.php The bill is S2462-2011 Tom B. (LongLine)

  22. (or something else???) Happy Birthday Ray Tom B. (LongLine)
  23. Angle of transducer makes a big difference on what & where you see down below. Transducer should sit approx 1/2" below bottom of boat if you want to see anything while running. Tom B. (LongLine)
  24. Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you mend real quick. Tom B. (LongLine) BTW - None of us "bounce" the way we used to.
