  1. Can you post the Pictures he sent to you?
  2. There’s oil weeping out the small hole in my outdrive. Just noticed today and I’ve never seen this before. Any thoughts?
  3. I'll have to check the transducer location again. This unit is about 6 years old. Maybe it's time to upgrade to a Chirp unit.
  4. Rick, Thanks for the reply. I'm not real knowledgeable about how the fishfinder frequency works. Mine is not a chirp unit. I usually keep it on 200kz. when it loses bottom. These are my transducer specs. Down Imaging/DualBeam Plus 75 degrees/ 45 degrees 455/800 kHz (DI) 25 degrees/16 degrees 200/455 kHz with built-in temperature 20' Cable
  5. I have an older Helix 7 DI fishfinder that seems to mark fine when I'm at slower speeds. At higher speeds It doesn't mark anything and usually loses the bottom and depth reading all together. It came with the HUMMINBIRD XNT 9 DI T TM TRANSDUCER - 710226-1. I have tried changing the angle and location but no difference. Is this a transducer problem and is there a better transom mount transducer that would work better? If it matters I don't really care about the DI function.
  6. Long Time, wondering if you have tried to get a hold of John Mann yet. I've left him a voicemail and also texted him but haven't received any reply. Just curious if What his situation is.
  7. This guy joined the site Aril 30 2021 to advertise the boat and hasn't looked again since May 28 2021. Probably Sold
  8. John Mann is Sodus does great work. 315-871-6400. I left him a message about getting canvas done early in the spring but haven't received a response yet. Not sure what his schedule is like.
  9. I've also used Rochester Reel repair. Good work, reasonable price and fast turnaround.
  10. I’ve had Charter Lakes for a few years now. Unfortunately I had to file a claim this year when the boat next to me caught fire. It went flawlessly. Can’t stress enough to make sure you have an agreed upon value. Takes all the headaches out of it.
  11. ttt
  12. Does anyone use the Roemer Liberators for their fixed cheaters. How do you like them? We're using rubber bands now but with the fleas the cheater doesn't slide down the line after a release. Wondering if these might work better.
  13. We fished the same area and ended with just 2 small Kings. One came on a stinger NBK 80 down over 90 and the other was a Carbon 14, 85 down over about 120. lots of bait on the screen in the morning from 80 to 120 foot of water then the screen cleared up after the sun got higher. we'll be back out next weekend weather permitting.
  14. Anyone have results for the 2021 Sodus Pro Am?
  15. Not sure where to post this but here goes..... My boat had some fire damage from a boat next to it. The damage exceeded the boat value so it was considered a total loss. They paid my the agreed value and I bought the boat back. My question is, will the insurance company report the boat as a total to New York and will they issue a salvaged title to me? I'm not sure how that works with a boat.
  16. The Moonshine Mag size Carbon 14 with glow back has probably been our best lure for a few years now.
  17. Went out Thursday morning. We went 6 for 7. 3 kings, 1 coho, 1 Steelhead and a 1 Laker. Fished mostly around 165 foot of water, Riggers took hits down 85 to 95 with Moonshine Carbon 14, diver out 220 with meat on a twinkie and 10 colors with a Stinger NBK.
  18. BW customs is who I had do the insurance estimate. They were great to work with. The motor still preforms flawlessly and I know exactly how it was maintained and what was done over the life of the boat. If I didn't it would be an easier choice. For now I'm going to use it as is. I'm just looking forward to getting back to fishing after screwing around for the last 4 weeks.
  19. Bozeman, The damage is mostly cosmetic but I've had the boat since it was brand new in 1987. I tried to keep it in the best shape I could so although it's not a dock queen it would be terribly difficult to get on it every week looking like it does. Jlogger, I remember when that happened to your boat. It looks like they did a great job with the repair. I did get insurance money for it and bought it back at a good price. the boat is 34 years old with 5500 hours so I need to take a little time and decide the best option going forward. If I decide to look at getting it repaired I would like to hear your experiences.
  20. Well, I got the estimate for the damage. $19,250!! It's more than the boat was valued at so it's a total. I figure I'll use it for a while as is until I figure out what to do next. It's not pretty but it floats and hopefully still catches fish.
  21. Im looking for a place in the Rochester area that can give an estimate on boat damage for an insurance claim? Mostly canvass and gelcoat damage from a fire but There’s also a few other melted parts that need replacing.
  22. I will definitely contact John about the canvas. I’m more concerned with the bubbled gel coat and all the melted parts that need replacing. (Port hole window, rub rail etc.Any good all around boat repair places? Is Great Lakes boat repair still in business?
  23. That’s a great question. I hope so.
