  6. My marine buss bar install, 2 large wires on the right are 6ga. power from the battery. The two black squares ant the top are inline blade fuses for the riggers, the other various wires go to the helm, to power electronics, auto pilot, and a separate direct line to the VHF radio. The smaller 18ga. wire powers the Depth Raider. Check out this link for supplys... all American made stuff, great prices, fast service. http://gregsmarinewiresupply.com/Zen/
  7. What Gill-T said !!
  8. Chas, I tie my own leaders and use both trebbles and single hooks. The singles have an offset eye, so I tie the snell and the hook and leader are nice and straight. The trebble hooks have an eye in line with the shank, using a snell makes the hook turn off to the side, so for me, Palomar for trebbles, snell for singles offset eye, Snell straight eye, Palomar Just my $.02 Jim

    Boat wiring

Moderators, if this post is outside the website rules, please delete it. I need to do some re-wiring on my old Starcraft and went on a search to find the components I needed, ring terminals, lugs, heat shrink tube, wire, etc. without breaking the bank, but using good products. I found a company online, American made products, good quality, good prices, fair shipping charges. I ordered a laundry list of stuff at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, and they had the order shipped out USPS Priority mail Saturday morning. All the components were packaged in small plastic bags with the contents, size, quantity etc. clearly marked, and had a hand written note on the invoice thanking me for my order. Anyone doing electrical work on "This Old Boat" my want to have a look. I am not connected with this company in any way. Jim S. http://gregsmarinewiresupply.com/Zen/
  11. Most of the major manufacturers websites will have the users manuals available for download in PDF format. I downloaded a number of them and reviewed all the features available, along with ease of use. Some are very user friendly, others make you jump through a number of screens or menus to make an adjustment. I found the Funuro 620 with an Airmar P66 transducer to be in my price range, easy to use, and a good fit for an aluminum trailer boat. Here's a review of the unit http://www.marine-electronics-reviews.c ... cv620.html
  12. Check out the 80-20 website.... not boat related, but we use this stuff at work to build support frames for robots.. you could retro fit something for your narrow gunnels. The 15 series, profile #1575 may work.. Just my $.02 http://8020.net/T-Slot-4.asp
  13. Potsie, I made a mistake in the post above.... I have the 3 STEP ladder on my boat, not the 2 step. I copied the wrong link from Bass Pro. Here's the correct link: http://www.basspro.com/Drifter-Marine-S ... 405263327/ Here's a few pics..
  14. Potsie, I have this ladder on the transom of my 17 foot Starcraft outboard.... fits like a glove. http://www.basspro.com/Drifter-Marine-S ... 405263326/
  15. I must have this........

  18. I may be wrong, buy I was under the impression the ramps were going to be closed for a few months while the Hojack railroad bridge was removed..??
  19. All my fly leaders are tied with 2 single hooks, no trebbles . For fly and leader storage, I use a Bass Pro plastic worm binder much like this one....one rigged fly in each bag. buy a few extra bags too !
  20. Same as Bazookajoe for me...
  21. Capt. Paul, you are correct.... as I recall, the old unit I used was an 8008, not 8002. The 8008 had a nice CRT fish finder as well as Loran..... thinking he could still use the FF part.
  22. King is still in business. Here's a link to their website.... maybe thay can help with a users manual. ...Used an 8002 years ago, nice unit. http://kingmarineelectronics.com/
