Yes you will hear the the hum. That's the power to the electromagnets. Don't know what control unit you have but I highly recommend the prodigy by tekonsha. I tow a 7000lb (dry weight) travel trailer with the prodigy. I installed it 5 years ago and haven't had to adjust it since. Just follow the instructions for adjustment and your set to go.

Do you gentleman link your electronics all together (gps,fishfinder,dsc radio,and auto pilot)? Or do you just link gps to auto pilot and be done with it? Thanks for any or all information. Stan.

Runner I also fish from a GLS 195. I only run two downriggers. There is room to run four. At the time I bought and set the boat up the kids were small so I fished solo. I run dipsy off the side.

You could dock in the bay. They have a launch there too. You go out the shute and your on the lake. Billy V and other locals could tell you more info if needed. Hope this helps.

You can try maxi mate. Not sure if they make them anymore. Special mate also makes them. They have 15 cards, 15 slots each card. I bought the special mate at screwie louies in fair haven. They work great for stick baits also.

Also looking at the 585. But I will need a transom mounted transducer. I will be using it for lake ontario. Which one will best for this use. Thanks for any help you can give me.
