  1. Check out were the fluxgate compass is and be sure that you don't have any magnetic objects near it,( ie. radio, cd player, speakers, tackle box, etc) as those items may interfere with the true course heading. Also on the right side of the control unit there is a knob that is the gain control. Use that to dial in amount of correction in varying types of seas. Good luck.
  2. little cleo,...try this out. You should get all the info you are looking for. http://www.kingmarineelectronics.com/
  3. Matt,.........thanks for explaining what is causing the problems with the 19 strand wire. Most of the guys (& me) will understand the cause & effect of the spooling process. I was ready to just leave this new(er) style wire to guys like you and continue to use the 40# 7 strand wire from McMaster-Carr that has been good to me. I remember the first year I started using stranded wire and all the problems I had with kinks & break-offs. It was only after a few of the guys here explained how to treat wire did most of the issues go away. When it's time for me to respool with new wire I'll surely consider the 19 strand wire now that I understand what to do and how to avoid the main issues (kinda like women, they each have their own little piss-offs that you need to understand ). In the meantime I'll also be watching this topic for further input from the guys to see if these issues disappear with experience. Again thanks for explaining.
  4. wow.....this stuff sounds like nitroglycerin
  5. bigweenies,...... I see in your website that the heads are available with the leader setup. Are the heads for sale seperatly?..or do I have to buy the entire leader also? I like to make my own flies so the heads would be of interest to me if available. Thanks.
  6. Rollie,.....fished Sunday out of Long Point. Stayed on the East side all day from the Green Can down about a mile south of Long Pont. Few weed clumps south of Long Point and none north.
  7. Beautiful fish Rollie! 14.9 lb Cayuga Trophy
  8. This was submitted today also....> viewtopic.php?f=12&t=12221&p=65134#p65134 Not good for Raymarine.
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Check this out. 2nd posting today! viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12220

  12. Only one persons salmon & trout limit per boat can be entered regardless of how many are on the boat. Culling will be easier with more people on the boat because you'll be able to keep more (legal) fish to choose your final fish to submit.( ie: I'll have three people on my boat so I'll be able to keep up to 15 fish, but can only enter 5 fish in any legal combination.) All NYS reg's apply.
  13. Well we do have a good paper trail that you can take to the judge if it goes that far
  14. OK Scott,I'll try and stay on top of it. Still adding night lights to my boat ya know. It sure would be nice if someone will be collecting unwanted fish from the weigh-in to donate again this year like Rollie did last year. How about it Rollie,..you collecting again this year for your church group? If so bring lots of coolers. Can't think of a better way to promote the good intentions of the LOU-All than that. This is the only tournament that everyone is in it for the fun & comradery,....not the money.
  15. Andy, the last time I was out fishing was when you saw me at the launch and you know how I kicked butt on that trip, . Even though I'll be betting against myself, I'll put my money on Elliot. If you behave yourself and are a good daddy Elliot will bring you along for his partner. Otherwise daddy stays home and cleans the barn.
  16. I spent all week rigging my boat for Saturday. If you see this before sun up then don't get to close. Dipsey's, planners, riggers, 5 core, 10 core, copper, thumper,..... it will all be out.....anything to catch a fish. maybe a little scuba if needed....> This is a walleye tournament isn't it?
  17. 3 browns on top & 3 atlantics on bottom (Cayuga Lake fish)
  18. I haven't been wackin um . Just sent away for a "How to fish" book. Three week back order. Just in time .
  19. That sure looks like a galvanized trailer to me and that break is rusted so it must have been like that for awhile. Same thing happened to my 2 year old Shorelander. Manufacturer replaced the trailer but my dealer did a temp weld job till the new frame came in. Maybe someone nearby can weld it for you so you can use it. A couple of floor jacks held the weight of the boat up so the crossmember could be arc welded.
  20. Thanks for the update. I've been eyeing the X5 ever since Raymarine announced that they were adding it to their line. I'm not in any rush for a new AP as long as my old King is working but it's long over due for replacement. The luster of the Simrad's is quickly getting dull because of the tech support some of our LOU members are experiencing. Thanks again for the update.
  21. Remember this from last year? Well, he just may be holding the big boys trophy this year. The Rat should sweat.....
  22. ......for those that may be interested I have these available to rent. Chaos left them behind when he blew out of town. Just be sure to keep hooks away from them. A careless hook and you'll have to pull a couple rods. PS: I think Z could use one
  23. Another reason for a party, ...have a happy birthday!
  24. .....staying home and washing the kitchen floor
