I think the servo would be the same but it's a matter of the mounting bracket & throttle control link. Check out the pictures of the different engines that they have posted. Looks like linkage and mounting differences to me. http://www.troll-masterpro.com/DrawOneP ... ?PageID=46

Thanks Chris for the report. I'll be interested what you have to say as the season moves on. I've been eyeing that unit since last year when Ray' announced that they were reintroducing a helm mounted unit to their line. Please post again later in the season.

Rollers or bunks,....sorta like ford or chevy. I've cranked boats on both types of trailers and I prefer rollers. I trailer my boat and at about 30 trips (average 180 miles round trip) a season cranking a boat on a trailer with bunks can make you breath hard. I guess a electric winch could be on your list but launching with rollers does have it's advantage. Just be sure not to unhook your bow hook & safety chain until the boat is down the ramp and ready to launch. Remember the boat will roll off the trailer on most ramp grades. If your not going to trailer the boat much then it probably doesn't matter much what type you get. As the above posts may suggest the quality of the boat and trailer have to be considered. My boat is a 19' glass hardtop. Weighs in at about 3500 lbs with all equipment and 25 gal of gas (@6lbs gal). Each battery is about 62-65lbs. Gross weigh is 4440 lbs on a certified scale(880 lb for the trailer). I have a Shore Lander tandem axle trailer and it has 16 cushion rollers plus 6 keel rollers. Bought the package new in 2002. Other than when I'm in the water fishing the boat is on the trailer and no problem with the hull yet. Hope some of this info helps. Regardless of which style trailer you buy you should get your boat weighed. Equipment adds up fast and you would be surprised at just how much stuffffff you have added to the overall weight of your boat.

Same as Lagerhead. Troll Master works great . I have an older model than the ones available now so I assume that they are even better yet. http://www.troll-masterpro.com/ If you don't see your engine listed call Troll Master and they can guide you on the proper model# to get.

I'm watching the wind forecast for tomorrow. Right on the edge at the moment. Those north winds will get things rockin' & rollin'.

Anybody fishing this weekend?

No wonder I always get this look when I ask those questions.

Z' is a little jealous because his wife made him get rid of his blow-up dolls and because they meant so much to him I held on to them for him. When he found out that I was using them (not the way he was ) as boat buddies he was concerned that maybe I'd get a fish hook into them or something. So Chowder I really don't want to go into much more detail on a public forum. After all, Z' is my buddy and I don't want to embarrass him. If you PM me I may share a few more details with you in private.

I've never had much succes on the surface up there at this time of year but if you like laker action then you'll need to look deeper for them. Try looking over deeper bottom . The lakers seem to move around so day to day success in any one area could be spotty. Typical laker techniques should produce some fish.

What are they worth......................

Here is a good place to start looking to see what they cost new. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... d=cat21276 -
Thanks for the report. It's nice to hear that the boats are starting to come out. I'm planning on a shake down this weekend. Was waiting for some rain forecasts so I can use my rain suit.

Try this out `rock. This is how I got started. I never tried to figure out what the difference was between buying vs making flies. For me, makeing my own flies adds a little more satifaction to the fishing experience. http://www.lakemichiganangler.com/tips/ ... ctions.htm http://www.lakemichiganangler.com/store ... r_Kits.htm

Beautiful setup. May the fish gods be with you.

Congratulations. She looks like she'll catch fish. Good luck with her and hope to see you out on the water.

This is what is legal in New York State. Page 14 under definitions> http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/nyfg0809.pdf "Angling means taking fish by hook and line. This includes bait and fly fishing, casting, trolling and the use of landing nets to complete the catch. Anglers must be in immediate attendance when their lines are in the water. An angler may operate no more than two lines with or without a rod, and each line is limited to not more than five lures or baits or a combination of both, and in addition, each line shall not exceed fifteen hook points in any combination of single, double or treble hooks. Snatching, lifting, hooking and use of tip-ups are not angling."

Seems that it is legal. It's like a fixed slider. Would it be ok to use if he were fishing for salmon or trout?

Goat, adding a image is a snap. Scroll down below and just below the message body box in the lower left corner in blue letters is "Add image to post". Click that and it will take you to a browser feature in your computers directory. Go to were you have your pictures stored, select the picture you want to show and upload it. That simple. Good luck. BTW, nice fish. -
RR is giving you good info . We ran that combo last Sat. and we really didn't do much on the surface but did connect better down deeper. That can change daily so follow RR's advice and tweak it from there. Surface temps were 34-35 on our temp readings but should start to warm a bit around creek mouths with all the runoff this week. Watch out for debris in the lake as the water level goes up.

Thanks Chris for the update. I will be replacing my 18 year old autopilot soon and I have been interested in the X5. Please keep us informed on how the install goes and how the unit works. The big thing is will it troll. I've bought several items from Hodges Marine and they have been great to deal with so I would expect that you'll be satisfied with them also. Good luck with it.
