  1. TH Yes the Scottys are rated for weights up to 20 lbs. Tim
  2. Quite honestly, with the dates of the Niagara Pro Am this year as late into the june swoon as they are, forget about a 12 fish box, they'll be lucky to get 12 fish total weighed in. Tim
  3. Wow, 258 right now, I was #40 just the other day. Tim
  4. Same here in the Buffalo Area Bill. I filled up monday for $2.149/gal. Tim
  5. if it is a Merc, you might find some help here: http://www.mercstuff.com/ otherwise, I have the SELOC manual for mine and I know it covers that Tim
  6. No, actually the 14 has an lcd display that shows compass heading, gain setting etc, it also has a number of additional features that the 12 doesn't (dodge, etc). Worth the extra couple bucks IMO. I had the R & P steering on my Thompson, changing the steering cable to a rotary was a piece of cake. Tim
  7. or AP 14, however, you DO need 10" of behind helm clearance for the Simrad AP to fit. If it fits, the Simrads rock. Got 3 seasons on my AP14 and would never be without AP again. Tim
  8. Yup, that works. Hi Dave. Tim
  9. my god they suck. If toronto want's em, they can have em.
  10. On a boat that size, it's proably underpowered with that 305. My 1986 24' Thompson has the 230 MR Mercuiser (5.0l Chevy (305)) and it is somewhat under powered. Tabs made a world of difference helping it get on plane, so you may be OK with this boat with the tabs on it. Any idea what the boat's weight is? Tim
  11. Brian, that's just a rehash of the Toronto Maple Leafs joke that has been going around converted to the Bills. A lot funnier about the Maple Laffs IMO Tim
  12. http://www.ipetitions.com is another good one. Tim
  13. Look like Riviera Triples. http://www.rivieratrolling.com/dual_planer_boards.html Tim
  14. I was always under the impression that the Walker Strike Vision HAD TO be run on a Walker rigger to work. Don't know for sure, since I never really looked into it, but that's what I've always heard. Tim
  15. Proably me , I posted this a while back. This pic has an offshore release clipped to the hook keeper on the rod, I've also seen it clipped to the underside of the reel and to the dipsey rod holder itself. All work well. Tim
  16. I'm guessing the reason for it was because those early June fish typically had NO chance of finishing in the money at the end of the Derby anyways, and it probably pi$$ed a lot of people of to have their fish on the board for a month only to see them all get bumped in the last week or two. We caught a 21.41 lb king in the Niagara Pro Am this year (day 2, Big Am Division King). We didn't even bother weighing it in even though it would have been 3rd or 4th on the board at that time. It would have held up on the board til 1 week before the end of the Summer Derby. Glad I didn't bother. We also had an 11 lb 7 oz steelie caught 4th of july weekend that placed 13th on the steelhad board initially and that one held up until 3 days from the end. Everyone knows it's mostly a waste of time entering until July anyways since the fish caught at the early part of the derby won't hold up, so why bother running that long. I believe Mark (REELJERKS) had the leading King after the pro am, I don't see this years standing sposted on the loc board at the moment, maybe he can chime in and let us know if his fish ended up on the board at the end of the derby. i don't remember offhand. Again, just a guess on my part, but it seems to make sense. Tim
  17. Tom, The hard core musky guys are almost fanatically protective of their fish. If I remember coorectly, I believe they didn't want the extra lines in the water because of increased mortality from more fish being caught, particularly in the Niagara River. I think a lot of the musky guys would rather see it go the other way. However, if this proposed reg change was Salmon/Trout Trolling specific, they might not care. Tim
  18. I'd like to revise what I said above. Many times it's just me and dad and it'd be nice to be able to run my regular 6 rod spread with just the 2 of us in the boat, so I guess it WOULD make a difference to me . Tim

  20. I'll be out there in the morning, not sure where yet, either Burt or Artpark, but I'll be out. Tim
  21. Wouldn't make any difference to me. I typically run a 6 rod spread, even on the rare occasion I have 4 in the boat. I remember this idea being floated a couple years ago and 1: it went over like a lead fart, particularly with the Musky clubs, they were violently opposed, and 2: the DEC flat out said NFW!!! Tim
  22. $2.32 at the Mobil here is Blasdell last night. :x :x :x Tim
  23. HOW 'BOUT THEM BILLS!!!!!
  24. I disagree Bob. IMO This is a stupid waste of everyone's time and resources and this kind of nonsense is exactly why lawyers are held in such low esteem. Do you really think the fisheries biologists at CDFG just arbitrarily started stocking without thought or care to environmental impact? All it really accomplished was that it forced a State that was already under tight financial constraints, to needlessly spend millions of dollars to satisfy a frivolous legal action. Tim
