Still time guys call your ASSEMBLY people !!!!!! Waste of time, The extreme downstate dem/lib gun grabbing majority in the Assembly has been salivating over this kind of stuff for years, but the Senate has always stonewalled them. The pathetic gutless pukes in this current Senate are no longer an obstacle. It will fly though the Assembly like sh!t through a goose.

2013 LOTSA Salmon School Announcement
Tim Bromund replied to Tim Bromund's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Well guys, the 2013 Salmon School is officially another sellout. We will be accepting a couple additional registrations (without payment) to go on a waiting list should we have any cancellations, but as of now, the Room is full. Thanks again to everyone for the continued interest. Tim Bromund LOTSA -
The brand was resurrected by Yar Craft which was a originally a spin off of Thompson back in the late 60's. Yar Craft made fiberglass walleye boats for the most part. Yar Craft got sold last year to a boat company down south and the Thompson line died again with the sale. From what I heard from a guy I know that was affiliated with them and owned one of the new ones, his was one of only 2 ever produced. Tim

For those of you planning on coming in from out of town for Pete Alex and Tom Allen's Salmon School on Saturday Feb 23 and/or the LOTSA Expo on Sunday Feb 24 (or both), We have attempted to secure some sort of Show Special Rate at the local Hotels. Amazingly enough, none of them were willing to make any kind of real deals with us. You would think they’d be falling all over themselves to fill rooms in Lockport NY in late February, but it is what it is. There are 3 hotels nearby: Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn and the Lockport Inn and Suites. All are available to book rooms through Travel Sites such as www.travelocity.com or www.orbitz.com. All three of the local hotels’ rates are fairly close on both of those sites ($75.00-$86.00) and all are approximately 5 minutes or so from the Venue. Quite honestly, It looks like you’ll get a better rate going through one of those sites than dealing with the hotels directly.

Chad, Here is the Lake Ontario Unit's 2011 Annual Report. The 2012 data won't be out for a while yet. http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/lorpt11.pdf check oot Section 9 in particular. in 2011 4 YO kings made up less than 1% of the returns to the hatchery. Table 4 in section 9 shows the historic data. 4YO's never make up a significant portion of the run, it is mostly 2 and 3 YO's. In 2011 it was disproportionately 2YO's as that was the year the shortfall of available kings from the 2007 drought and stocked in spring 2008 would have been 3YO's. Lots of interesting info in this report if you've got some time to sit down and read it. It's a pretty large document. Tim

It's not really food for the 'nooks', S W II, it's more of a traditional native food source for the traditional "native species" such as lakers and atlantics to try and get around the thiaminase caused reproductive issues. There are still plenty of alewives and smelt in the lake for the kings to eat. despite jimskis inaccuracies above, it was the alewife, not the smelt that caused all the problems in the lakes and it was the excessive population of alewives that was the reason the salmon were initially stocked in the Great Lakes to address.

I didn't want to be the first to say it this time

Yes I was talking about Salmon and Trout on the West End. I fish out of the same port that Vince does (Olcott). On the rare occasion I fish walleye (on Erie) leads are much much longer, if we even run riggers. They are so much less effective than cores and divers, we seldom put the riggers in the water. Tim

If not, he should have been. We can all thank the ACLU for making it impossible to treat the mentally ill. Actually he was, he tried to buy a gun (or guns) the week prior and was rejected because of his past psychological issues. That's why the psycho murdered his mother and stole her guns. -
I've had both the lighter and heaver duty models of the Dutton & Lainson Electric trailer winches (TW400 and TW9000) on different trailers and those are great. I particularly like that they use a strap instead of a cable. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/ ... t104632380 Tim

40' is long IMO. I seldom have leads longer than 15-20'. Many times, particularly with flashers, I'm only 8-10' off the ball.

Just because you "feel" less safe, doesn't mean you ARE less safe. Your irrational fears have no bearing on anyone else rights. Could this rant be any more filled with meaningless cliche's? Holy crap. -

Is that why the Police Dept runs a gun "turn in" program every year? Or why if an officer stops your vehicle and you have a gun (even in the trunk) that you must inform him? Google "gun turn in programs" & look at all the places that have them - Chicago, Philly, Tampa, Jacksonville, NY, LA........... the list goes on. Tom B. (LongLine) So called "gun buy back programs" are meaningless feel good exercises. All they really accomplish is they give people the opportunity to get a couple bucks for otherwise worthless non functional pieces of crap. Buffalo has a couple every year and they are a freaking joke. Just because a copper asks if your carrying during a traffic stop, doesn't by any stretch mean they don't approve of private gun ownership, it's a simple precaution in a potentially escalate-able situation.
