  1. Tom, I didn't realize we now have 15 months in a year
  2. So Ray, what does black kool aid taste like, kind of like black water?
  3. disregard the blacks kool aid drinkers The longer the better IMO. I like the Scottys with the 30" tether. If a fish even breathes on your lure it is telegraphed to the rod tip. Tim
  4. I didn't expect the Bills to win, but I honestly believe that if they had pulled the entire 1992 squad out of retirement for this game, they would have done a better job than this pack of clowns. In a way, I prefer it when they self destruct early in the season so I can do what I want to on Sundays without feeling any guilt about not watching the games. Tim
  5. no worries Stan, next week should be a walk in the park for the Niners By the way, NYS only has 1 team, the Bills. Jets/Girlie Men are New Jersey's teams
  6. for various boat related issues, I didn't get out much this year, and most of my bites came on flasher/flies, but some of my better spoons were Various R&R Razor and Superlites Stinger Stingray NBK and 42 Second Old School NK28 Black and Purple/Black and Raspberry with white backs Tim
  7. On Thursday October 11th at 7pm the Lake Ontario Trout & Salmon Association (LOTSA) will be sponsoring a presentation on Lake Ontario water levels. David Klein Senior Field Representative for the Nature Conservancy of Central & Western New York, will present a 30 minute slide show outlining the important facts about the proposed regulations that could affect the water levels in Lake Ontario. These regulations have created much controversy and discussion among all of the constituents who are affected by water levels in Lake Ontario. South Shore property owners, recreational boaters, fisherman, marinas and towns all are affected along with the Major groups such as shipping and hydro power. Since these new regulations will affect us as fisherman and those that use the marina facilities along the south shore of Lake Ontario we encourage you to attend, listen and voice your comments. We look forward to a very active discussion." LOTSA is a group of mainly weekend recreational fishermen who are dedicated to the enhancement of the Lake Ontario Sport-Fishery including the pen rearing project at Olcott. Each meeting also features a sharing of information the current fishing conditions. So come join us and become more successful at fishing Lake Ontario! The meeting will be held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, 4487 Lake Avenue (Route 78 two miles north of Lockport), Lockport, NY 14094. The Seminar is open to the public and free of charge. See http://WWW.LOTSA.ORG for any questions.
  8. We started fishing out of a 19' Bayliner Bowrider and fished it a lot and caught a ton of fish out of it. Were there days we opted not to go out, sure, but it was a fine fishing platform. Tim
  9. mrclean. do you dock with Chris at Anchor? Tim
  10. Moorman is 36 years old and his punting average has been dropping for several years, Most of his punts Sunday in Cleveland were pathetic. He was outstanding in his day, but his time is over IMO. Tim
  11. In July, a lot of the migrating fish were off the Niagara County shoreline. Those fish moved east towards the Salmon River in August.
  12. orangediablo, If that one is too far, LOTSA will be having our Expo and Flea Market in Lockport the last Sunday in February. I'll be posting info here later in the fall as we get the details finalized. Tim
  13. yeah, start a separate thread about your own lame a$$ team
  14. From what I've heard from the DEC, they get almost no wild fish returning to the hatchery as they would not have imprinted there. Most of the successful wild fish production occurs in the smaller cold water tributaries of the SR. The fact that it is clipped positively identifies it as a hatchery fish. I really don't see any features in the pic that make me think it is a hybrid, it really just looks like an immature king to me. Tim
  15. SCOFF!!!!
  16. Only 20? Slacker! Those are just the standard package. They are supplemented as needed from the basement/warehouse.
  17. I don't know what you're talking about Chris, I only carry 20 rods on the boat
  18. Yes, you're absolutely nuts. That's not nearly enough. You'd need many, many hundreds more than that to even get in my area code.
  19. Happy Birthday Hank
  20. Well, yes and no. If the open division is intended to be a breeding ground for future pro am participants, I'm not so sure treating them like a red headed stepchild is the best way to foster that interest. Tim
  21. My sincere condolences Brian. It truly is like losing a member of the family. Tim
  22. That is definitely an immature king, honestly, immature kings shed scales almost as easily as coho do. Tim
  23. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: FishStyx ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):9-16-12 Time on Water: 0700-1300 (7:00 - 1:00) Weather/Temp: sunny Wind Speed/Direction: W/SW 10 kts Waves: <2' Surface Temp: 71 Location: Olcott LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated: 1 Species Breakdown:King Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 1.8-2.1 on Depth Raider Boat Depth: 30-230 fow Lure Depth: 60-80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Dad and I gave it one last shot out of Olcott this morning. Lots of boat traffic in tight and we played around in there for an hour or so without seeing much on the screen and not many nets moving, so we pointed it north and found a much better picture between 150 and 230 fow with decent temp profile, lots of bait pods and quite a few hooks, but not a lot of activity on the rods. Temp was 48 deg down 70. Ended up 1 for 1, coming on a white green dot SD and Big Weenie Spook fly on a wire diver back 210. Not a huge fish, maybe 15-16 lbs, but it was a mature hen king full of eggs (AKA egg wagon ) Tim
