  1. Hey guys, if you haven't registered yet and want to attend, we are just about sold out. Only 2 openings left as of last night. Once we hit 100 registrants, we're shutting the registrations down as that is all we can fit in the room. Tim
  2. The LOC will be represented at the LOTSA Expo. Dave Chilson will be sharing a table with Bill Hilts Jr for the Pro Am. Tim
  3. I'm not bitter about anything, but thanks for playing Chad tim
  4. Well you know, there are a few worms and maggots hanging around
  5. Who asked anything about a chickenhawk??
  6. I know quite a few people use that knot for regular rigger cable connections without issue, including Capt. Ernie Lanteigne who I learned the knot from. I don't know why it would be any weaker with coated cable. However, I don't know how good of a signal transfer you'd get. The modified Klincher terminator setup is easy to put together and provides a super connection between the probe and the display. Tim
  7. Jim, last time I checked, late May was not early spring. Mark, Like Tall Tails said, the king setups are essentially the same, though there are usually some differences in preferred colors and patterns that work on the west end than those that do well out east. Tim
  8. You do know we have Zweigle's in NY, and they are quite honestly the best hot dogs ever.......... Nope, that would be Sahlen's actually. Tim
  9. OK apparently we were given the wrong phone number for Barton Hill. The correct number is 1-800-718-1812 Tim
  10. Maybe I'll just wait and talk to Duane at the LOTSA Expo. Moor will be there again this year. Thanks guys. Tim
  11. After 6 seasons it's finally time to replace the coated cable on my probe rigger. All I seem to be able to find online is 200' spools. Does anyone have a source for longer lengths of coated cable? With the fish seeming to go deeper every year, I'd like to put at least 300 if not 400 feet on my probe rigger. Thanks, Tim
  12. This is Lake Erie, but the nyet's keep piling up, good to see. http://www.windsorstar.com/technology/t ... story.html Tim
  13. I have the utmost respect for Bill Culligan, that was not intended as a slam on him in any way. Thank you SO MUCH for pathetically trying to put words in my mouth. Bill will be VERY difficult to replace, but I think they made the right choice in promoting Steve to the position. I've stated many times, gosh even in this very thread if you happen to look past your ego, that it really doesn't matter to me as the only time I would take advantage of it is when there's just 2 of us in the boat so I could run my normal 6 rod spread. In fact I have really always been an advocate of the less is more philosophy and believe lost of stuff in the water chases the bigger fish away from your spread. Glen (spoonfed-1) and I recently had a lively debate on this topic over on Great Lakes Angler. Even with two of us and 4 rods we usually have no problem catching fish. That being said, I also see absolutely no harm in raising the number of rods allowed, if guys wanna put all that crap in the water and chase the big guys away from their boat, more power to em. Tim
  14. Yes, "does not support" is absolutely a neutral stance, it means they have no formal opinion. "Opposed" is a stance against the idea. I know full well what the reg book says, so climb down off your high horse already. When this was originally proposed, it was proposed for Lake Ontario only, and the response was that that wouldn't fly, it had to be a statewide reg change. Besides, Bill Culligan is retired now, so your letter is dated and irrelevant. We'll have to see what Steve LaPan, the new Great Lakes Fisheries Chief (former head of the Lake Ontario Unit) has to say. The muskie guys are opposed because those fish occupy a very different niche in the ecosystem than salmonids and are MUCH more sensitive to pressure. Tim
  15. The position of the B of F is not because they are concerned about the impact on the Lake Ontario T&S fishery, it is because the y have to take into consideration that if it happens this will be an across the board, state wide regulation change and certain groups, particularly some of the muskie clubs don't want it for whatever reason, so politically they have to take a neutral position. Tim
  16. nothing better than a "horny" horn, eh Ray Tim
  17. regarding your sig line, absolutely you should seek help, there a a ton of us on here that are more than willing to help you feed your obsession Tim
  18. the Miami Dolphoon of course
  19. Actually the only time I would take advantage of it is when there are only 2 of us in the boat. My normal spread is six rods, even with 4 people on board I seldom run more than 6, but it would be nice to run the regular spread when it's just me and Dad. Tim
  20. Well, personally I don't care how good a pattern it may be, I wouldn't have a spoon with THAT name anywhere near my boat, period!!! Lots of other spoons catch fish. Tim
  21. fishandaprayer, I see you are in Toronto, if you really want to do well with this, I would recommend concentrating on the South shore from Jordan to St Catharines. If you haven't already, you should also join the Spoonpullers website. it is a Canadian based site with lots of really good guys on it that will also help you get going. http://spoonpullers.proboards.com Tim
  22. Hey, just look at how much running 3 rods has degraded the fishery on Lake Michigan, they hardly EVER catch anything anymore over there, that lake has officially been "fished out" from all the added pressure to the fishery. Tim
  23. Most use the 47 size and a 1000' spool of 30 lb wire fills it perfectly with no backing. I'm not sure what additional capacity a 57 has so it's hard to say. Tim
  24. ok now I've got the DVR programmed to record them, yippee. Hope they rebroadcast any that I missed. Tim
