  1. Is their anyone able to step up?
  2. I do a father / son trip every May to the Niagara Bar and would not give it up for anything. Great fishing and fun times. I have done this trip on the holiday weekend for over ten years. There is several places to stay but we stay at the Youngstown Motel. Nice people. It is for sale though and we will have to see when it gets sold. We usually cook our own food so I do not know anything about where to eat. If you are looking for more in the summer time I would suggest the Oak Orchard area. They have some of the best summer fishing. I stayed at the 4c's marina. They had several cottages to stay in. In the fall, late August through early September you can not beat the Mexico Bay area.
  3. Definitely a bad ground.
  4. Good luck next year.
  5. Currently a Thompson 240 Fisherman Previously Smokercraft 19 Ultima
  6. I see that the rod holders are sold. Were you able to get them. Hope all worked out and you are able to do what you want with them.
  7. Are you looking for brand or color pattern? If pattern / color for me it would have to be glow frog right now. Up to four years ago it was the Miami Dolphin. I do not have a preferred brand. For why, it just produces more hits for me tan any other color.
  8. Just found this on Great Lakes Fisherman. Might help out. http://www.greatlakesfisherman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32723
  9. Which model Mag 10A or Mag 10 HS?
  10. If you are referring to the radius piece with the holes in it to lock it into its degree position, I am sorry to inform you that that is part of the tube itself. Just flattened out and drilled for the various degree positions. You would have to custom make something and insert it into the tube or have it welded on. In either case it would probably be cheaper to just purchase new holders. Sorry for the info.
  11. Nick and Theresa, Thank you very much for the reports and the videos. I really enjoy them. Wish you a great short winter and hope to meet you some day up there.
  12. momay4000, Give Lowrance a call. I had a similar issue with interference with my humminbird. I contacted them concerning a ferrite, which is a form of filter. I just wanted to know if they thought it was a good idea and which one to purchase. They in return just sent me the one I needed at no cost. Basically the one they sent is a ring, you take your transducer cable and put it through the middle of the ring as many times as you can, wrapping the cable around the ring. It should come with a picture set of directions if you do not understand how I am wording it. It will not stop all the interference but it cleared my screen immensely. I could not read anything on my screen if I had to up my RPM's on a windy day. Now I can read it with just a little clutter (not too bad). Good luck and tight lines
  13. WOW it has been a long time sense high school ( 30 years goes so fast). If I did my math correctly, and you have a 20 deg. cone, you should be scanning a 17.6 foot circle at 50 feet down and a 35.26 foot circle at 100 feet down. Usually to pick up your rigger balls you just have to pitch the transducer a couple of clicks back past level with the water line (not level with the boat). Most boats sit with the bow up slightly due to engine weight. I personally do not like to see my rigger weights all the time. I think it clutters the screen too much. I have my transducer set so if I slow down slightly or take a turn the balls will show just to verify their position. Good luck and tight lines
  14. Heading up in a few hours myself. Hope it settles down. Last trip to pring the boat home. A long 6 hour drive to not be able to fish but this is the only weekend I could get to retreive the boat.
  15. My Mag 10s have 30 amp fuses inline to the battery. Good luck and tight lines
  16. Coldwatertackle.com has 52 colors Fish307.com has the largest selection that I have seen yet at 117 colors listed on their site. Good luck and tight lines.
  17. Great job Brian. I do miss you web site.
  18. I found this while doing some research on the Fair Haven Challenge. I thought some of you would enjoy it. www.dec.ny.gov/docs/administration_pdf/0812backtrails.pdf
  19. I agree with the need of the overhand knot as well. You can also tie the overhand loop knot without the swivel and then just add the swivel as you show. I find it a little faster that way on the water.
  20. I agree with above. Nice looking reel but for the coppers you need more line capacity. By my calculations they are only good up to a 300 copper.
  21. All above is great information and this is deffinatly a personel choice due to the abillity of the people on board. Like above I have four riggers, two wire divers, possibly two slide divers, and a copper off to the side. I have an eight foot beam. I do not pull any rods and take the fish up the shoot. I relocate rods to more forward rod holders to get the lines out of the way. Also do not forget that when a fish hits and releases from the rigger he is going to rise and fall back behind the boat. He may run straight back or to one side. If you release the other device its line will also rise and drop back. You could possible be creating more of a chance of tangles by releasing other rods to take them in. Just a thought. Good luck and tight lines
  22. Sir, Is your speed GPS over ground or is it from your down speed (depth raider, Fish Hawk, or other down speed device.).
  23. As soon as I recieve them I will post. Werner is having internet difficulties and is going to get the results to me as soon as he can.
  24. To pick up the rigger balls is not just your settings. At the speeds we troll at you will also need to pitch your transducer more back so that teh balls are in the cone while trolling. Good luck.
