Like stated above, but a little different. I take mine out after spooling and put on a 12 oz or 16 oz ball. let the line out all the way just short of the not while trolling and reel back on. This will make the line nice and tight on the reel.

Let the fish tell you. I use four riggers. One is set short, maybe 20 feet. The others are set 50 to 75 feet. Good luck and tight lines

All above is great advice. The only thing I can tell you for now is not to worry so much about the temp in a couple of weeks. As the salmon approach there time to run the rivers they will be caught out of temp. The probe will help you more next year, spring to about this time next year. Sorry for the news.

Fished Friday and Saturday. Managed one king each day and a few browns. Friend managed three kings and six browns Saturday fishing slightly different waters.

There should be a bleeder valve on each brake set. Start at the furthest tire down the brake line. have some one hold a cup under the valve, loosen it. Have yourself pump the brake actuator untill you have a cup or two of oil in the cup. Go to the next tire up the line and repeat the process. Continue till all the tires are done.

Take it as a compliment. All that water to fish and they think you have the ability to call all the fish to you. Good luck and tight lines

I have had great luck with kings all day, just the morning and evening bite and just mid day. The fish will have to tell you what they want. In some locations you have the option to fish for browns or steelhead when the king bite slows. I have noticed when you are around the full moon the bite is better mid day. Good luck and tight lines

From what I have heard the kings can be taken in close with the browns. 50 to 80 feet of water. I will be up next weekend.

I am ussing 50 pound leaders to my flies so I can not see a 40 pound main line being a cause for less hits. Again I use 30 pound main line when the fleas show up.

If it is a mag downrigger there is a circuit breaker under the housing. A little white button of soets in a clear rubber cover. Push it in a few times to reset it. It should onle be visible a little, if you see say 1/4" it is tripped.

I just run the main line to the item fishing with. 20 # for lures and 30 # for flashers. That is unless the fleas are present. Then 30 # for every thing.

just go to 30 pound big game. No issues with hits on my boat.

I will start with two spinnies and two spoons. I will let the fish tell me what they want from there. I have had as many as three down and as few as none.

Double the line and then tie the overhand knot with both lines creatting a loop. Push the loop through the eye of the swivel and then the swivel through the loop. Pull tight. Basicaly the same as above just the overhand is in both lines.

It would depend on the day. You will need to let the fish tell you. I usually run a mup rig when the bite slows. usually one set up or two on the out riggers. I have runn them off all four riggers when the boat traffic stopped the bite all together and started getting fish.

Like stated above, you should be fine. I fish out of a 19' Smokercraft. The bow is not ment for big waves so I know if it gets to three footers I have to call it a day. I love the boat and will not sell it. Just picked up a 24 Thompson for the big lake for more comfort and the ability to bring more friends out on the lake, but again informed the wife I will not sell my the Smokercraft.

I would drill a bigger hole, then fill with epoxy to seal the hole deal. When cured drill the hole the size you want in the center of the epoxy. That way you should not get any water in your transome.

Off the rigger is something the fish will have to tell you. I usually start close at the beggining of the day and lenghten out as the day goes on if the bite slows. Leader length from flasher to meat head is about five feet or so. Bait head clean I stay at the five feet, twinkee rigs are a little more because I make my own.

Keep tyeing, you will love the results. If you have kids let them select some colors. I was able to create some great flies that way. Been tyeing my own for ten years. Have a great selection of custom colors and do great with them. The only store bought flies I have were won at raffles. Like said above, it is a good feeling to catch a fish on something you made. I do the same knot as shown above just tie the overhand part first. then I attach the swivel. The swivel then is attached to the dipsy. I have never fished Rochester but I have fished the Oak. Fantastic fishing there and I do not think that is too far a ride from Rochester. A half hour to fourty five minutes I would figure. Check on a gps, I could be off it is only a guess not knowing exactly were you are. Good luck and have a great time.
