  1. I like to have about 1000 feet of line on my reels. I have had salmon tear off over 600 feet of line in the past and like to have some extra. Some of the reels will not quite fit it all but I figure I am well into the 900's. Flea flicker line is oval in shape to halp stop the fleas from being able to hook onto it. I do not know its thickness in both dirrections.
  2. I have not had to do it yet, But I have been on two other boats with the same issue and have tied knots in the cords to solve the problem.
  3. Go out the shoot and fish to the right from the shoot through the bluffs. I have only fished it once. I understand there are bolders to the left of the shool allong the shore for some distance.
  4. idn713, My boat was wired like yours and when I switched to a 24 volt system I had to change a few things. The boat war wire for batteries in parrallel (12 volts) to the motor. This wiring was done through the male side of the plug. I had a toought time figuring it out like you so I opened the plug to find junpers installed between the wires from the batteries making it in parrellel. I figured out which wires needed to be powered for 24 volt set up and changed the jumper configuration. I confirmed this with my volt meter before sending power to the motor and frying something. I hope this helps.

  15. The smaller entree fee of the smaller touniments on the eastern end is were I am at right now. Having to drive six hours to get to the lake hinders being able to fish the lake as mush as I would like. Like Tom stated, the larger touniments is something to strive for maybe in the future. P.S. I did not put in a vote because I did not think these small tourniments falls into one of the catagories.

  17. Deaf Fisherman, I am living in Middleboro. It is a town located about half way between Boston and the Cape. How about yourself. School was many years ago for me so you must be a bit younger.

  19. Do you use flashers with spoons? yes How far off the ball do you run spoons? 15 to 30 feet Is it best to use them in combination with flies (if running 4 lines, do I use 2 spoons and 2 F/F) or just stick with whats working? yes run them together but as always stick with what is working for you at the time. What are good colors? I like greens. Glow frog is one of my best spoons. And is there a particular time of the year that they are better then F/F? Not so much a time of year but more of a depth thing. Run mostly spoons above 50 to 60 feet and flashers below that depth. But of course not always. As for j-plugs I understand that they are mostly used late August. I only have a few myself. Good luck on your next year on the water.
  20. Sorry, did not expect anything changed, but I thought you were on the east end as well. There is also a sandy creek on this end.

    augers

OK guys. My mother is thinking of getting an ice augerfor my father for Christmas. Though he is in decent shape right now (65 years old), but had a bypass a couple of years ago. We are looking for the most dependable brand name keeping the lighter weight as a close second in the decision. I gave her a rough price range of three to four hundred though this would not be a deciding factor in her decision. Please let me know your likes and dislikes on all brands to help her. Richard
  24. As long as you are using the same poundage and design weight on your rigger cable it will be the same for all riggers. Do realize that any change to the set up will result in different blow backs. If your out downs have a directional weight your blow back will be different and a difference in depth between your riggers will also change the blow back. A rigger at 100 feet down will obviously be back further than a rigger set at 50 feet down. Richard
  25. I feel your pain Tim. Picked mine up yesterday from the mechanic. Just need to cover her this weekend. Richard
