  1. When you mup lures on riggers they are placed five feet apart. Used to do that all the time when I only had two riggers.
  2. Check your connection from the antenna cable and the cable to the display. I actually have to have it disconnected and touching the side to get mine to work. strange situation but it works. have to zip tie it to hold it there and then tape it. found it out while playing with it and when I put the connection in one hand my dad was yelling up front "thats good" looked in my hand to see how it was sitting.
  3. Usually aply it to my fake cut bait. Place a few drops between the bait and the head. Some days it does make a difference.
  4. Usually bouncing bottom in the Niagara is done with a pencil weight on a three way swivel. That way your bait is slightly above the rocks and you do not get stuck on bottom nearly as much.
  5. 13# torpedoed work well for me for over twenty years without issues.
  6. Last year I found my u/v flasher was only ok at deep depths. Using it at least 100 feet down or more. Shallower than that and it was not getting hit. I assume it had to do with the color / depth index. Top of the water your reds, then yellows, then greens, then blues, then violets, then you u/v. Good luck and tight lines
  7. I find it easier and faster to add the swivel after you tie the knot.
  8. As Jake said.
  9. I contacted Canon on this very same subject 6 months ago. Was told to send in my old ones and they were replaced free of charge with new ones. The new ones have a metal plate on the top as shown in the picture previously.
  10. Agree with the answer above.
  11. Morgan E, Thank you very much for the hard work that you obviously put in to make this past weekend a great success. This was my first year helping out with assisting on one of the many boats you put together. I can not wait till next year. What a great time. Thank you again and please thank your daughters for all they did. Richard
  12. Salt water settings are only because of the depth we are fishing at is my understanding. I believe I read that in my manual some where.
  13. Depends on the mood of the fish. Active fishing would have the center rigger the deepest with a flasher/flie set up and the two higher riggers with spoons. Non active fish would find me with the center rigger higher with a flasher/flie to attract fish. Usually these inactive fish will drop back and down to the side. I would then have spoons on the side riggers with longer leads than normal. That way when the fish drops he has a nice tempting bait to hit. Then again it is fishing and nothing works all the time. Some days it can be a f/f bite and some days can be a spoon bite and I may be loaded one way or the other. Good luck and tight lines.
  14. Thank you Richard. Will give it a try next trip to see if the picture improves. I love the unit just would like to see the targets a little better for my father.
  15. I add scent 50% of the time. Place the scent between the strip and the bait head. Just a few drops.
  16. Thank you very much.
  17. Yankee, I have two Birds. The 787 and the 789 I believe. My picture is okay, but if you have any ideas to make it better, I am willing to listen. And yes the fish ID is off. Thank you for any help.
  18. Do not let this deture you from posting reports. I live in Massachusetts and love reading every ones reports. Some good some bad. It is my connection to the lake in between trips. Thank you all that post.
  19. I always perform my radio check as I leave port. It is best to perform this on the local channel of the port in which you are fishing. Most ports use 68 or 78. (I think 68 is the channel you want for Oswego). Some will use channel 5 or another. Ask some guys that fish your area or some one at the launch or marina. Good luck and tight lines
  20. Love them. I use the white one the most. Have caught some big fish on them including the boat record at just short of 30 pounds. This spring it was my top producer for my trip to the Bar.
  21. I have never done it myself but I understand the out drive needs to come off. I have paid for it twice to be done.
  22. Narby's should have them. Just not shore were you live out that way. Narby's 1292 Oak Orchard Rd. (RTE 98) Kent, NY 14477
