  1. Fish Magnet, Thanks for the reply. We were going to head up Saturday but the wind reports changed our mind. Predicted NW 10-20 and with a 19-20' boat we didn't want to chance it. How was the water actually on Saturday?? I heard Sunday it was like glass. Clarke
  2. Bill, We have the 12" Forschenr Cimeter model and love it. Guppy picked up the same knife and told me he has no regrets buying it. I don't know if the 2" difference is noticeable but they do make short work of those big kings. Clarke
  3. Magnet, Did the flies and the cut bait perform equal or was one hotter than the other? Thanks, Clarke
  4. Jim, We are doing the Oswego Pro AM. First correspondence with you since you won the Spring LOC. Congratulations. You have accomplished a feat in your first year on Lake O that a lot of us have been trying to do for years and years. That's what we figured on paying our observer - $50/day. When you say the new boat is that the one I saw pix of - The Sabre??? Looks like it's in good condition. I know a couple others who have Sabres and they love them. Hope you get on the water soon. Give me a call if you get a chance. Clarke
  5. What do you all pay observers if you have a paid observer in the am division?? It's been a year or so since I was in any of the pro-ams'. Back the the observers got $50/day or $100 for the weekend. I saw where the price for a pro observer earlier was posted at $75. Is $50/day still the going rate for am observers?
  6. FWIW - I was just talking with a guy and he told me he fished with a guy who has a tunnel drive Penn Yan and it is very difficult to dock ALONE. He said you most definitely need two guys to put in in the slip due to steering issues in tight. One guy has to throw a rope around the post at the end of th eslip and actually pull the boat around to get it into the slip. Clarke
  7. Does complete include the probe? What Model 840? 800? Thanks
  8. Comes in either a white or silver back depending on the maufacturer.
  9. Ray, I know Ken and his equipment. Excellently maintained great condition. No need to speculate...if you need them jump on it you won't regret it. Clarke P.S. Ken, will I see you and Roby at the Oswego Pro AM??
  10. Does your wife have an available sister??
  11. Lou, I gotta get a job like you and Jim where I can go fishing on TUESDAYS!! I'm envious!! Clarke
  12. Skeiner, Are those 8" models?? Clarke
  13. I think most of us have found that one rigger/spoon will be hot that day even if you have the same spoon on another rigger at the same or different depth. Same goes for the wire attractor/fly combos. Run identical set ups on both wires and one is constantly getting ripped and the other NADA!! Clarke
  14. Just spoke with Wright's Landing to confirm and there is no reservation system for Transient Slips - First Come First Served Basis.
  15. I just reviewed the entry form and it specifically says AM Division $250
  16. Thanks Paul, Clarke
  17. Question #1 - In reading all the posts and the rules I was wondering about this bonus laker. Are you only entitled to a "bonus laker" after you have your 6 silverfish?? As everyone talks about getting the legal limit and then trolling around for a laker and catching bigger salmon. So if I hook a laker prior to boxing my limit it's a throw back? Question #2 - I don't see the same verbiage for the am's as I do the pro's. It states in the pro section "first legal limit brought on board" which does not appear in the am section. Are they allowed to release fish like the am's if the fish is not netted? Question # 3 - What is a tournament legal lake trout? If it is over 18" I would assume it is a tournament legal lake trout because now you can keep 1 slot laker. Thanks for the replies. Clarke
  18. Dan, Awesome buddy. Good job you and the wife did!!! Second on the pix - they grow up too fast. Enjoy every moment. Clarke
  19. Iriish Knots, Where do we mail in the entry fee and form?? Am I missing something on the flyer or form? Clarke
