well I had plans to fish Ontario this weekend. I got a call today that the marina I use has not even started working on my boat yet. They said maybe next week. So we are going to fish barneys with my friends boat. prefishing friday, pulling my boat out of the marina and taking it to another one friday night. -

on my cannon mag 10a i run a 13# torpedo weight that i get fron atomik or any tackle shop in the oswego area. they work pretty good

I am in the same situation as you are mickey finn. I am headed to wilson friday morning for 3 days and am thinking about doing something else. I really want to go but would like to get into at least a couple of kings.

Don't give up on the places you have fished. They are some quality fisheries and will get better when it warms up a little. maybe you can let us know what didn't work for you and someone local can give you some pointers.

I used to fish for them in little sodus bay about the 1st of may. We used to have a lot of fun with them and some nice smallmouth mixed in. Small black hair jigs tipped with a fathead, ultra light rods and 4lb test. Those rockies fried up good.

I had 2 browns a couple of weeks ago with different color flesh. I grilled them and could not tell the difference.

cig187, I don't think he was taking a shot at you. Andy and I went to Cayuga yesterday and those shaker landlocks were a pain. I think the topic was on his mind because of our trip to Cayuga. Thanks for the trip Andy!!! It was a cold foggy morning on the lake, the waterfalls were frozen in time. Hows that for a start of a book Andy.

I am not familar with a Torpedo roller tip, do they swivel? I have Okuma Blue Diamond roller rods and the tip does not swivel. I think you are better off with a Twilli than something that does not swivel.

I have used Ande Floro for the last 5 or 6 years and never had a problem. For browns I run 10# with a 30# SPRO swivel to attach it to my main line. I also use Ande floro for my fly leaders, 40# test and never have I broke a leader.

Yep, The ice is gone. I had a friend tell me today they closed the locks and raised the lake alot. I never thought it would happen so quick.

Its probably going to be a week or 2 before the ice is gone.
