Andy, the 10#brown trout we took was in 174 fow. At first i thought it was an Atlantic but it was a brown. I think we are going back Sunday to hopefully find some mature salmon. From the bait i saw in 130 i might start there. I took my probe rigger to screwy louies so i will not have a temp probe. I am lost without it.

I talked to glen(spoonfed) this evening and he said he finished 2nd in the am division. He had a bad day one weighing only 3 fish. On day 2 his fish were hunger and he boxed out and had a 32#14oz kicker. That must be a helluva battle on copper.

go for it. Some days i wonder why i have riggers because most of my fish come on dipseys.

what rod and reel are you using?

heres my take. the captain calls the shots. he does not need his crew telling him what to do and have him loose his train of thought. if the captain wants opinions he will ask for them. when i fish on other peoples boats i don't give advice unless i'm asked. i have learned a lot by watching.

Did a quick trip to cayuga. launched at meyers and headed to the west side. dropped in by the boy scout camp and headed north. surface temp was 56 and only had 1 release. trolled over to aes and as soon as we were in 85 fow we hooked up. trolled that area for 1.5 hours and did 6 lakers. NBK stinger size and silver dodger with green crinkle fly. oh ya the water temp on that side of the lake was 62. it was nice to get the boat wet for the first time this year.

yep, fish them in low light conditions or deep. i caught my first salmon on a black and silver nk with a white back and still run them early or deep.

Seems like they are more worried about becoming this huge national tournament that everybody knows about instead of just trying to make it a great run tournament that guys will want to take part in. Well said fisherman Tom.
