  1. thats a first. and i have been using jigs to catch perch. i guess i need to put down a couple of dodgers and flies.
  2. i would fish rainbows fron AES to Taughannock probably from 300 feet of water to the middle of the lake. i would put down a couple of riggers about 70 and 80 and put a slider on each. small spoons. then a couple of drop weight rods on my planer boards. 2 -4oz of lead on each, again small spoons. troll about 2.8 - 3.0 gps speed. when i say small spoons i'm talking 2.5 - 3.25 inches.
  3. get the copper NBK too.
  4. dion, i am looking for a chartplotter too. after looking around i have settled on a garmin.
  5. i would have to say the most memorable trip was out of fair haven in the middle of august. i took out my friends 14 year old nephew and he got his first steelhead then his first king. a beautiful 28 pound fish.
  6. i put my 22' islander in there this summer...once. i took the top down and just made it under the brigde. If there was any waves i would have been in trouble. But the lake is down about a foot from summer pool.
  7. if you stay on the river or in the harbor you should be fine. Just remember that the water is getting cold and safety is very important. If you don't have downriggers i would run some type of plug. J-plugs, Lymans are just a few. Size 4 and 5 work pretty good.
  8. i'll second the chowder recipe. It is the best.
  9. heading up. its less confusing for me.
  10. it looks like the atlantic fishing was good this year. i'm sure you had a good time. who caught more fish, you or your dad.
  11. andy, i am on vacation from the 11-17 of october. it should be good over there for rainbows then. i know the perch will be stacked up.
  12. nice choice.
  13. andy, i tried calling you on the radio but for some reason i had trouble recieving on my radio all day.
  14. congrats on your 2nd place finish. that is a really nice fish. it sucks that your gear was all stolen. i had my fish finder stolen and that was bad enough. why can't people leave others peoples property alone.
  15. we fished sunday and struggled to find any bigger fish. Most of our fish were 3 to 4 pounds which is very unusual for cayuga. our best set up was a silver dodger with a purple taco green crinkle fly on a wire dipsey out 283 feet. Congrats to the winners.
  16. either Barney's or Bears will take your derby entry.
  17. we will be fishing the derby sunday. good luck to all.
  18. glen, if you want to go someday give me a call.
  19. we had a good time also and took home a few $$$. It was great that scott put this little turnament together. hopefully we can do it a couple of times next year. the big lakers were hard to come by which was a real suprise to me. a trash can dodger and hammer fly put all of our big lakers in the boat. a mashed mahi glow northport nailer did our 2 silver fish.
  20. i put the wire through the swivel then tie an overhand knot. your loop should be about an inch or so. its pretty easy and effective. never had one break.
  21. i will NEVER forget.
  22. what a mess!!! thats enough to make you quit for the day. i am thankful for my auto pilot.
  23. scott, I'll be on the lake tomorrow and give you the money then.
