He was actually hired for Harvick's team, however RCR split ways and Hillman hired him... if you watch the Chicago race, castle pitted every 15 laps for fuel.... call it OJT. .. 2 cars pitted at the same time and only 1 pit crew... castle's car being secondary there was. No one left to put in gas.... the crew chief told him to put on a helmet and fuel the car lol Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Like another poster (sorry forgot name) said list your stuff separate. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

I would agree with PAP, probably came from exhaust. As above post said (sorry forgot who posted it), inspect the bellows under the gimble ring. To ease your mind drain the oil and do a pressure/vacuum test (can use brake tester from autozone which is free). My outdrive did crack and at first only noticed a small 1/4 dent that was leaking. Once I removed the drive and sanded the paint there was an 8" crack. Was able to get it welded. Just my 2 cents Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I found a 1998, 2600 striper seaswirl wwith a mercury 250efi on auctions international. It comes with a dual axle trailer. It was a yates county sheriffs boat. Current bid $5700. Some of these are selling between $15, 000-$20, 000. Check fine print though there is a 10-14% buyer premium. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Best way to sharpen fillet knife on the boat
poverty stricken II replied to vetting's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I use the $4 yellow shapeners that has carbide V on one side and stone V on the other. They are about 2in square and bright yellow with rubber bottoms to prevent slipping. 3 swipes across the carbide turns the edge razor sharp. The V design allows you to sharpen any blade angle. You can find them at walmart (camping section)dicks, or any sporting goods storw. Sorry don't know the name but they are like $4. I have one in boat and house. Sharpens my large fillet and hunting knives with ease. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
I know dicks sporting goods will put their stands on clearance right after xmas. I think the 15ft basic ladder stand for $30-40 Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Oil and water in u joint bellows
poverty stricken II replied to poverty stricken II's topic in This Old Boat
Got the outdrive back together and she holds 15psi pressure and 7in of vacuum. Found the upper drive seal blown out. Not too bad of a job at all. All bearings and gears were clean and no corrosion. Had to only buy the upper bearing retainer nut wrench which I got off ebay for $16. Total cost of upper seal replacement was $50 including buying the special bearing wrench. I believe the water came from the water supply oring between outdrive and gimble ring. But will have to wait till spring to make sure. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Replacing boat window plastic - suggestions?
poverty stricken II replied to vetting's topic in This Old Boat
I agree with john mann. I believe he did the drop curtains on mine well over 20 years ago and still holding up very well (marks and glaze spots due to normal wear). The trick I use whwn storing during the winter is hang them over pvc and out of freezing temps to prevent cracks in plastic. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

My son had a dog tick (big brown one) on his wrist while he slept. I removed it successfully however still took him to the dr. She said they (her practice) don't test for lyme disease on either the tick or the patient. Our area is low compared to VA (highest) and with the cost of testing it is pointless. It normally takes 2-3 weeks for the symptoms of lyme disease and if the symptoms show they treat the patient as if the do have it with a nearly 100% cure rate. There are strains of ticks in VA that are becoming drug resistant towards amoxicillian due to over prescrided. There is only one other alternative drug however it permantly turnns your teeth yellow. After 2 days of amoxicillin he is back to normal. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

King Salmon Trolling, commercial fishing
poverty stricken II replied to motocross's topic in Fishing Videos
I use the "finger lake rig" during the spring and have caught kings. Once landed a double with 17 & 19 lb kings. They don't like the weight so there is no brag screaming however its a big tug of war and the run side to side. If you don't know how to handle them on the rig they will tangle every line you have out.. I Don't run the rig in summer months because of currents and higher trollin f speeds. A lot of line out and it almost always will get tangled with dipsies, or copper/lead lines. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Oil and water in u joint bellows
poverty stricken II replied to poverty stricken II's topic in This Old Boat
Jimski, I will be pressure/vacuum testing the lower unit. Just split the 2 drives last night and popped the top cover off. Didn't see anything to cause concern at this point. Very good news is no rust at all. I will have to flush out both drives. Can I use a general parts cleaner or is there a cleaner for marine systems? Only thing I have found that is 100 % bad is the yoke seals. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Oil and water in u joint bellows
poverty stricken II replied to poverty stricken II's topic in This Old Boat
Found how the water and drive oil made it into the bellows and inside the bilge. The upped drive yoke seals are bad. Couldnt do pressure test because they were so bad (assumed that was the only way oil could get into the bellows). There are no obvious signs on the outside of the drive regarding how the water got into the prop housing. Is there a way to test the water system to check for internal cracks? Ill do another pressure test after I replace the upper seals to check the prop shaft seals. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
