ifishy, You've got the cart before the horse. The large ponds you see being built are fresh water, no flowback from well sites in those ponds. Also the well pads are lined so all material is confined to the site. People really need to give this industry a chance, they are doing all they can to do a job as safely and as cheaply as possible. Just like any other business. What you read in the paper or hear on the news is only a portion of whats going on and nine times out of ten it's the bad side. As with anything, there are going to be mistakes made and with the scrutiny placed on this industry things are magnified. Not meant to pick on you, just a little more info. Scott

Have you noticed only the bad stuff is published. Yes the traffic is bad and the roads get tore up, but when the gas companies fix the roads they end up being better than what the state would have done. You can't forget about the boon to the local economy, if you don't have a job here in northeast Pa it's because you don't want to or can't work. As you can see I'm all for it. Scott

That it was Kyle. Plan on getting out a few more times before I put the boat up for the winter. When I start seeing overnight temps in the 30's it's time to put it to bed. The silver fishing has been real good the last 2 trips. Haven't tried for the lakers. Going too fast lakers can't catch-up. Scott

Got out yesterday with Final Flight and my dad. Started at the south end, no bait and no fish till we got past crowbar point. From there on it was a steady pick the rest of the day. Needed a brown for the grand slam. Best area was north of Taughannock on the west side.

Lots of people fishing off the wall and mouth of the creek yesterday. Didn't see any nets moving. We did pick up a few going by just out of casting reach.

Final Flight and I went out of Myers, headed to the west shore just south of Taughannock and set-up. Before I had the second rod set the first one went off, had it on for a short time and dropped it. A few more salmon and drops till we got to the scout camp then the screen lit up with bait and fish in 90 to 130 fow. Large bow and salmon for the box all others returned to grow. Trip was for Silver fish so no Lakers, went too fast for them to catch the bait. Great day on the water, thanks Rollie.

Seeing as there are going to be a quite a few boats out tomorrow, anyone up for a $10 a boat, big fish winner take-all derby? Will weigh-in at Myers Park. Weigh-in time (TBD) sometime in the early afternoon, will get a vote on the water by radio on 68. Pay at weigh-in on the honor system.
