  4. Landlocks like the prop wash in the spring , we always have one back about 100' with something orange in it. We run faster too 2.4 to 3.0 . Lakers can swim faster if they want too.
  5. That R&R Magenta Shad Spoon Is a good one the steelies like that baby too!! Looks like you guys had a fun day..
  6. Nice pretty one!!
  7. Sounds like a fun day other than the swing and misses.
  8. Nice one , I like the ones with the big spots.
  9. BJ;s had a 150 qt. marine cooler for 54$ , move the brackets
  10. Fished with Jim (livewire) Sat. we wound up with the 4th place laker 8#6oz. It came on a 3 color core and a inline planner board. Hit a green and orange ladderback R&R . Had several salmon in the 20" to 23" range and a crazy rainbow that bounced allround inside the boat before we could get him released. Several other lakers in the the same range as the salmon. Rainbow came on a magenta shad R&R the salmon on the orange shad and green pickle. Launched out of long pt. and fished south. Nice day on the water . Saw a pair of loons flshing the same water as we were.
  11. Get well soon!!!! I have been laid up before and living through the reports too!! Many guys don't realise how much the reports help the others that can't get out.
  12. Love those orange shads!!
  13. AAHHHHH!!! but he is one day closer now!!! Happy Birthday!!
  14. Livewire was running a 50' copper of a inline board. so guessing it was 11' down. One rigger hit at 7' and one at 25' with long leads . Jim has a nice set of kitchen shears that works wonders with the lamperys
  15. We got 6 nice landlocks North of Myres on the east side tues. The biggest was 23" the smallest was 20" Went 5 for 6 on the lamperys, one fell off at the net. Everything was in the top 30' . No bait deep just the surface clutter on the fishfinder.
  16. I have a blacks release that on a cable that puts it 3' above the ball . The bells are run 5 or 6' back and there is a 3' lead from the back of the bells to the peanut, spin glo, or a small flatfish. You find a area you want to fish and bump bottom with the rigger weight. Pick it up 3' or so , go a little ways and bump bottom again. Keep doing it till you hook up. I like a bottom that is clay.
  17. Fish On is a good name with results like that. Way to go Ralph!!
  18. I always though of Browns as homebodies that didn't travel all that much. There used to be a bunch at the south end all year. With all the lamperys they wouldn't have a chance.
  19. Fished with Livewire again and had similar results as the other day. Couple of lakers one 22" and one 20" Lots of salmon from the 11" pups to 17 1/2" 4 or 5 less lamperys than there were . Lakers on a seneca special with a green fly of the dipsie out 120 on a #3 setting. Salmon came off the R&RS in the 3 1/4 " size Orange shad, Green banana, were the heros . A couple on the small R &Rs in the 1 1/2" with brass back up on top. Down 6' to 25' and a couple flatlined with no weight back 100' . Couple hit while holding the line trying to get it in the release. Nice day on the water. I don't know if were doing the Salmon a dis-service by catching them , or a service by catching them and taking off the lamperys ? Again there were some 8>10" and some 12>14" which seems like to differant year classes.
  20. Fished with Livewire on the South east end of Cayuga today. Caught a bunch of salmon from 12" to 19" One small laker about 3# and a 27" Pickeral . Got to close to the drop Had fun removing the lampries from several of the salmon. There seems to be two year classes of these things. Some were in the 12" range and others were smaller. Great to be back on the water Green shad , Orange shad, Green and yellow R&Rs were the ticket 3 1/4" ers.
  21. It may spin alot faster on the road than on the water. 70 mph on the road , with out the water to cool and slow the lowerunit may be to much.
  22. If they hit herring can't you troll mag spoons through them?
  23. They are a lot bigger when you get them in the boat, and usually not happy to be there fun to fight up in the air too!!
