Cannon makes an emergency handle that allows you to crank up the weight. It goes under the hand nut on the right side of the rigger. You can hold the spool , loosen up the hand nut ,and roll it up by hand too! Not fun, but you can do it.
Props with a cupped blade even though they are the same pitch make a differance too. I had two props the same pitch . One with regular blades , one with cupped. I couldn't troll with the cupped blade , was to fast. The top end was higher and the bite out of the hole was greater than the regular blade.
Best spoon is the one in the fishes mouth!!! They all have their day and they all have their sweet spot with speed. They won't work together most of the time.
My fishing partner's Grandson Carson. I have a bunch more that arn't on the computer. Its fun when they haven't caught a fish half as big as the one they bring in.
My guess is the salmon and trout arn't as active in the real cold water. Making it easier for the lampreys to sneak up on them. Watching a lamprey swim away when if falls off at the net, you can see that they couldn't get on in open water. They must come up on the fish when they are inactive near the bottom. But I am just guessing
Thats funny Tim , I can't buy a fish on a SD. I know there are lots of guys that kill them with the SD. I would guess is my speed. Do all right with the E-chips and some others .
Reg. eye will work for copper , you just need it large enough to get the copper and swivels through. My copper rod has larger dia. eyes and tip than a regular rigger rod.
