We used a bar to turn the bearing so it is sideways in the mount and turn it so it lined up with the two notches in the housing. Put a rope through the bearing and popped it out. Popped the new one in and checked the alinement of the bearing and the coupler. If you wipe the grease off you can see and feel the notches in the housing. Its like a pillow block or flange bearing assembly.

Before my one of my fishing partners died. We made changes to the way we fished. The 7' dipsiey rods let Bob (at 86) bring in kings on the wire that he couldn't have done with our bigger rods. A 10' wire rod would be hard with a good shoulder, the 7' is a piece of cake. Take out kids and groom them into your new partners Its tough to make changes to a well oiled machine. This is a diawia lc 47 and a diawia rod we got off the bottom. Those zebra mussels had quite a time with the rod and reel. got them working though

Too fast and you would have an ejector platform. Depends on who you are fishing with. Check the lines from the pump for kinks and such. The pump volume isn't to fast anyway thats made for pressure.

Walleye and alwives don't get along to well. The walleyes spawn and they hatch out just as the alwives come ashore to spawn and they clean out all the fry they can get. Thats what goes on in Otisco anyway..
