  1. You talk about large flashers , I use the 8" with a 6' lead from the dipsie and run at a faster speed 2.8 to 3.0mph . The lakers can swim that fast
  2. Never had that happen. The only thing I can think off is it happening when you let the weight away from the boat as you start to let it down.
  3. Wire dipsies with flashers and flies take alot of fish for us. Sometimes we will run spoons or j-plugs off them too. If your arn't running dipsies , MORE FISH for ME!!!!!!!!
  4. I want a purple ultra glow uv with glow beads. But the Green has been working for me.
  5. Charlie , it changes all the time . Read the reports and the tweets and you can get an idea on what's up.
  6. I found its not what they call you its the tone of voice they use
  7. Thats like the Blue Lobsters off Long Island.. Cool Blue!!!
  8. the 10" Assasins were one of our best flashers. Glad to see them coming back!!!
  9. Mex Bay Is a good bet after Labor day. Owsego, Olcott , Pt. breeze will also have fish around through Sept.
  10. You can launch at Mex. pt or at pine grove. both launch are with the park
  11. The reports out of Owsego , They have taken a bunch of fish that are 30# + Should be a great Derby!!!
  12. South Dune is just south of the North Dune!!! Just south of the entrance to Sandy Pond , East end of the lake
  13. Sounds like it was a fun trip. Its cool to watch the kids faces when they frist see the fish!! Great job Tim!!!!!
  14. Went a couple of years ago to the spring sale. Worth the trip. Got a bunch of spoons all colors. Rings and hooks and away you go. They had some colors that wern't in the stores .
  15. http://www.roughfish.com/ These guys fish for that stuff !!!!
  16. Yep wound up in thrid with a 23.6# we found over by the plant.
  17. Splitshot115 If its bigger than 46# It would be cool Sorry guys , adding the two higher weights reset the poll
  18. How big will the winner be??? and will it be a LOU member???
  19. It dosen't matter if the fly spins, but it does matter if the line to the dipsie or the rigger does. Thats why the ball bearing is at the front. They will wind up the line so tight that it twists off with out you knowing. And your trolling an empty line
  20. Ray your always fishing for something!!! Welcome Dr. Fish!!
  21. Also the wire or the braid dosen't streach , so everytime the boat rocks it jiggs the lure. I use a snubber to help with the fish thrashing at the back of the boat, and the hit. Its much easier to trip the dipsie to change lures and check for zebra mussels when you tick bottom. The fight on wire is alot differant too!!!
  22. I fished out of a friends 22' Islander a 77 and I own a 22' Islander hard top an 88 . They both fish great and take more water than I am willing to fish in. Because they are lighter they ride differantly than a heaver boat like my 20' Thompson did. Easy to trailer and launch. Read the reports and head to the hot port.
  23. So that how its done on the Reel Jerk boat!!! and I thought there was a deeper meaning to the name If that was wire it must have been a stinker to get it in esp. if the dipsie wasn't tripped.
  24. Dang, he fishes and computes too!!!!!! Thanks for all the hard work that you do for the guys like me that don't compute
  25. With leads that long you have to be careful on the turns!!!! If you turn to short they will run into each other if they are at the same depth. The currents out by 9mi will make a mess of them too. I have a smaller boat and have two riggers. We run the flashers on the dipsie rods most of the time , Maybe off the riggers on one side and spoons on the other. For the most part that keeps us out of trouble. Although I am good at the untangle and rerigging thing
