Now that its too late penn has a reel support that has an extra hole for a rod teather. I use a dog leash on my dipsie rods. Clip it into the extra hole on the reel seat. A lot cheaper that the rod and reel set. Get some heaver rod holders.

I used to put a large nytie on the boom end to hold the stacker (off shore) while I let the cable down. Clip the stacker to the tag end then clipped it on the cable when it got to the right depth.

Then had trouble keeping them on the wire . Had three more chances but couldn't keep them on. Great to be back on the lake.

Float could be set to high. But it sounds like the fuel is being pulled over. The carb needs to be rebuilt, and cleaned out

My friends mercrusier 165 hp 6cyd had the springs in the distrubitor rust out. These were for the centrifical advance. That gave weird running conditions as the timing wouldn't stay put ,or work as it should. Got a rebuild kit at one of the autozone stores (mister gasket hod rod kit) that fixed us right up.

Say, Ray can you drill the larger section and thread it to screw a machine bolt into it. Cut it off the right length and you would be ready to go hit the dock , I mean the lake again .

We have a small boat and on the rougher days they work well on short leads 4' off the ball. I am not sure if were trolling them or jigging

TRIP OVERVIEW I finally hooked a salomon on a Dipsey diver rig. It jumped twice and looked great. But what a nightmare trying to handle the 8 foot rod,magnum Dipsey and the net by myself in my shallow 14 foot tin boat. The fish was boat side but just wouldn't wait for me to get organized. I bought a down rigger this afternoon. Been there and done that!!! Don't give up on the dipsie!!! They fish different that a rigger. Some days all the hits will be on the dipsie and others a mix.

How come all the fish look small when I hold them up??????? Nice Fish can't wait to get back on the lake.!!!!

Carb. The transfer from the Idle circut of the carb and full throttle isn't happening. Something is plugged ,or the power enrichment rod isn't working, Accelerater pump?
