  1. My friends broke up and we didn't know it. The torn canvas and broken supports beat the hell out of the gunnels and the side of the boat. Looked like you took a claw hammer to it. don't do it.
  2. If you arn't underpower but drifting would they still be in the right. It might be worth untangling lines to stop and throw out a bobber. If they had to fool around to not ram you.
  3. Hi Stan!!! Thats the frist step admitting that you have our problem
  4. Disclamer Spoken like a tru addict!!
  5. Sounds like Ray, but I can't see his face. Lucky Me!!!!!!
  6. Tuna's Ree; Troubles 4583 N. Lakeshore Dr. Ludington, Mi. 49431 231-843-4557 [email protected]
  7. Sent 4 linecounters out to Tuna's Reel Trouble in Luddlington MI last Thrusday . Got them back this Thursday all rebuilt and ready to go Superfast turn around. I would still be looking for the dropped screw if I tried to do it myself. He drilled the arbor of the reels and put a line pin in to keep the spool from breaking free from the shaft. The drag updates feel super smooth can't wait to get them Hooked up with a salmon.
  8. Most charters the mate grabs the rod and hands off to the customer. Get a pair of the 7' roller guide dipsie rods from Fish Dr.. They are sweet and my 86 yr former fishing partner could get the fish in on the wire with them.
  9. Another thing I just thought of is not letting your fingers or thumb get into the reel between the sideplate and the level wind. A Kid that was camping next to us one yeat at 4 mile st pk did that. He was checking the lure action next to the boat on a dipsie rod and a steelhead came up and wacked it. The drag ran out crushing the end of his thumb between the sideplate and the lineguide They got the fish, but he had quite a sore thumb.
  10. Would have loved to add the 3or4 pounds to our loc fish with the lampery still on
  11. The floater wasn't in yet , but the steel sides are usuable. There was some stuff at the waters edge in the launch area. The lake looked a little bumpy Sat. when I was there.
  12. Tim's right with the price. Check e-bay the dual cranks are popular there.
  13. 5" renoski or reefrunners are hot out to the bar in the spring for Kings. The landlocks like them too!
  14. Cable , release, probe, short probe saftey cable , weight. Release is the above the rest. When I am stacking a second rod on the rigger I used to use the offshore, it was quick and easy. Now I use just the two riggers and run the dipsies off the sides. If I can run another rod its a leadcore or copper down the middle. The rigger rods usually have a slider , fixed or free on them.
  15. A friend caught a coho casting for pike in the 1000 islands a couple of years ago. Had quite a time with it with the reel he was using
  16. The worst thing you could do is not give it a try!!!! Mistakes happen and make great posts when you get back. I like the guy that was trolling next to us one day with his new boat. He was marking all kinds of fish and dam if he didn't catch a few. We had a blank screen!! Come to find out he had the fishfinder on simulator. He was telling us depths and such that we knew wern't right.
  17. Fish Hawk x-4 No special cables good battery life. Reads deep.
  18. Remember that Gravity gets stronger the older you get. Stuff I used to pick up like nothing I can't even wiggle now. I get down and am lucky to get back up. And now your one day closer Happy brithday!!!!!!
  19. Treiman is open at the south end Cornell and Ithaca collages have had the crew boats out as far as the drop. Lake still is low.
  20. Sounds like a Pain in the *&% Like to see them do it with Kings in the fall
  21. The streams are muddy up this tme of year and you can follow the flow into the lake. The west shore is clear , the three streams flow in and you can see mud line going out to the east side of the lake and up toward Myres and the barge up there. The currents effect your lure speed and direction you go . Its like the satallite photo of Lake Ontario that is up on the open board. You can see the Niagara plume and the counter clockwise flow of the lake.
  22. Been working out of the Cortland plant the last week. Looks like the inlet is open, but I didn't have a chance to check the launch at Treiman. Now is a good time to watch the current flow out in the main lake. From East shore drive you can see how the 3 rivers flow into the lake and where the flow goes.
  23. Inlet is still frozen and the Ice on the lake is between the red breakwall marker and the white. Maybe the rain tomarrow will break it up
  24. Cabins are nice . No hot water you have to use the showerhouse. We have been camping there for the last 20 + years for the two weeks of the fall derby with out any problems. With the campground that is. Truck broke , boat broke etc. A couple of the cabins are a bit of a challange with the boat on the trailer though. Not impossable, but a bit of a challange. Beats the heck out of a tent when the rain starts This was in the BC years. Before Camper
  25. Well Done!!!! and Thanks to the whole Losta group for a great weekend. Looking foward to next years
