If you don't want the screws to be visible when your fine you should use flat head so they are nice and flat with surface, then you can bondo and sand and they are gone. [ Post made via iPhone ]

I finished mine a couple months ago and used advantech, I love it. The herculiner I used was great and can't think of a better floor option. For screwing to the stringers just use stainless steel and they don't have to self tap if you pre-drill. Pep boys has a great price on stainless accessories, I was surprised but they are cheaper than lowes and the depot. [ Post made via iPhone ]

Go with the 500 spectra...I have to switch over my 250 power pro because each side has a blood knot holding it together. Both sides snapped on seperate occasions just trolling in around 3 footers [ Post made via iPhone ]

Thanks guys...carp, for the bottom of the hatch I used a grate for transferring pop bottles or something. Burger king on Lyell ave. is being remodeled and I have been working there and I just scooped it out of the dumpster, cut it to size. For the side I just Used wood that also supports the floor. I use my cooler for a seat so I can just move it around, I'm hardly sitting unless its a slow day [ Post made via iPhone ]

Late Fall i blew my motor and figured it was a good time to do a new floor and try to make as much room as possible. Here are a few pics of the long project i had. For the floor i used 5/8 advantech subfooring which is the best when it comes to water resistance. I used a two part closed cell foam for under the floor and two gallons of herculiner bed liner :clap:for the surface , stuff is awesome! I built the side console and gave it two coats of fiberglass resin and then bondo,sand and paint. The plexiglass i cut of my old console and fitted it to the new one. It was alot of work but im extremely happy First the Old the floor Piece of wood between casting deck and floor is advantech bondo, and paint I did three coat of herculiner on the floor and it is realy thick and strong. I bought a can of the Rustoleum bedliner spray to see how it was before i bought the gallon and i wasnt impressed. So i figured i would spend alittle extra and get the herculiner because i heard it was thicker. Herculiner was about 90$ a gallon. Foam was from uscomposites.com, 16 pound kit ( two gallons) was about 90$ with shipping. Few more Pics to come after the mast ans other toys get on it. Hopefully i will be on the niagara soon, i have taking it out and it ran great

Im cleaning up my boat and doing some painting. I took the anode off the transom and there was a strip of something between the anode and aluminum, is it supposed to be clean between the anode and transom? Also the two bolts go through the anode and transom with nuts on the inside of the boat. When I took the old wiring out there was a ground connected to one of the anode bolts, which has eaten away the aluminum behind the ground. So now there is one hole about 1/4" and another about 1/2", could this be part of my corrosion problem? Thanks Doug [ Post made via iPhone ]

I am using advantech subflooring...they say it can be submerged for 50 years or something. 19.00$ for a sheet at morse lumber on main st.... I planned on using either rubber bed liner over that or they have rubber garage floor mats that are big and one piece would work [ Post made via iPhone ]

This may sound stupid but I didn't plan on putting foam back in unless it's for strength. If its only to keep boat afloat incase it flips I don't care, I will be swimming in. [ Post made via iPhone ]

the foam was wet for sure because i had a water issue i think from my livewell...When i lifted the foam, underneath there was a white residue like a calcium deposit or something. It was only where the foam was, down the middle of the hull there was no foam and it just has the little pits in that area. In the second picture where the corrosion is happening, that is where all the white stuff was. I pressure washed it off the other day the today i went out with a wire bit on a drill and there was still white resdue that i was able to get up with that>

The boat does have a anode, I did clean it good and am going to clean it again, I took it to the car wash and scrubbed it with a wire brush. I filled the boat up to the waterline with water and it didn't leak so as long as it doesn't deteriorate more then it should be ok. [ Post made via iPhone ]

I am in the middle of a boat restoration. I pulled the floor and there was foam underneath most the floor. After thinking wether or not i should remove the foam i chose to rip it out, after i pulled the foam i saw the aluminum was carroding . This explains why i had a pinhole leak near the back and why there are some bad patch jobs on the hull. When i looked at the boat this spring when i bought it i notice the hull had some repairs but they looked like attemps to seal rivets, when i asked if it leaked he said no and i couldnt see any signs off corrosion. I asked if it was in saltwater because it had a florida measurement sticker on the boat and he said no. Anyways, whats the best way to stop the corrosion? If i clean it real good shoud i use guvit on it? i guess i will feel good if i could stop the corrosion.

I just got the Rustoleum brand bedliner roll on...im doing my floor with it, we will see if it holds up. I will be putting it on advantech subflooring, my only question is how well it will bond. I think it will be ok, it should be easy to touch up when needed and hopefully not to slippery in the winter. There are also these garage floor mats at lowes, they are almost like the bottom of a flip flop. Not hard rubber and not to heavy, comes in 4 by 6 mats which u could glue to the wood. Bedliner was 43.00$ a gallon which covers around 160 sq feet

i have a 40 horse johnson for parts. Brand new prop, rebuilt starter ,two cowls(1 for 50 horse), also has new controls too
