  1. putting a 1992 50 horse mercury on my 16 foot starcraft and was looking for the proper pitch i should be using for this motor?
  2. would of registered, but got home after 9
  3. i was supposed to go jet skiing but my buddies wife wouldnt let him go, i went out of braddocks last strong north east in about six footer and it was a blast!!!its about the only time i will ride them, when its to rough to fish.
  4. I was wondering about snubbers for them, that will help for sure. Throphy seeker, the second keel is the same size but has half the weight. I picked it up from the slippery sinker in olcott. I looked everywhere for them and had a hard time finding them till i stopped bye after the wilson invitation, they carry them in stock...45$ i think. The extre keel has nothing to do with it because i broke both sides and the other board does not have the extra keel. Gator, i also used washers on the holes and upgraded the rope the tow line snaps to.
  5. They snapped on different occasions and both times it was rough, they both snapped about 30 to 40 feet up from the board. Once ok, a freak thing but the second time . A simple blood knot and i back at it and they havent broke since. I got a small boat so when in the wave it might be to much movement for the no stretch of power pro. Do you run them even in say, four footers?
  6. first i upgraded my tow line to 250 pound power pro...each side snapped on me while trolling in choppy waters. Has any one else had this happen? Then a couple weeks ago i was out and there were some big swells and i had to take it slow otherwise my boat was comint out of the water. I have two planer board masts and on this trip i only had one board so i put it between the mast and bungie it to keep it from bouncing around. Later when i taking gear out of boat i realized my otter boat was Broke. Nothing out of the ordinary happened so i was baffled as to what happened!
  7. I started my salmon and trout addiction by casting, and having the salmon absolutly slam the plug, spinner, cleo, etc. There is no mistake when a salmon hits a lure. Every so often you will unintentionaly snag one in the fin or back, just like every so often you snag carp while casting for them too. If you spend as much time as many of us do chasing the next big one, you will know they bite. The "challange of fair fishing" is simply to get the fish to BITE your presentation, sometimes its simple and sometimes its impossible.
  8. Looking to get out around 3:00 tomorrow and fish early saturday. Fishing out of sandy, must be registered in the loc. I have a sixteen foot center console, roomy for a sixteen foot. Might just target browns or go for a variety. weather looks good but as long as its not blowing to hard im going out, i would hate to catch the big brown solo!!! Pm me and maybe we can work something out. Also willing to go out with someone else possibly too Thanks Doug My freinds must be losers...how can i have a hard time finding someone to fish with?
  9. Was out also and got skunked as well... marked so many fish i couldnt believe it! in about 75-90. Went out tonight and went 5 for 7....three browns, raindow and the fatest 8 pound king i ever saw, wish i had a camera....that fish was stuffed. Was glad to see the fish bit alittle
  10. I have att and reception on lake is usually perfect but at the launch or hamlin beach cant even make a call
  11. I was out at 5:15 in my 16 foot aluminum and had nothing like that happen but i dont have a antenna...I would be scared, havent had nothing like that ever happen to me.
  12. awesome...great catch!
  13. GREAT FISH!!!!Dont know how fast they gain weight, but he coulde be a record breaker soon
  14. good job Mike, your daughters smile says it all!!
  15. glad it worked out for you...Its the best to have trip like that when it counts and you have company on the boat
  16. I took my mom and Daughter out for a little troll this afternoon and sucked...started around 130 fow and headed north. Didnt mark much at all till i got around 300 then i was marking bait right on the top, srface temp was 68. Had riggers at 50-75 down and wire mags out from 160-200. Trolled back in and around 100 fow when i was pulling gear in i had a king on that didnt release the rigger...Hopefully i will do better in the morning Doug
  17. my last two trips out i didnt mark any bait, nice day on the water!
  18. stop bye S&R on culver, not the biggest selection but no one has a better price
  19. Thats awesome! You must of been ready to clean up after playing with those smelly grease balls .
  20. I have a rope that i tie on the wheel and when i want to maintain a somewhat straight line i tie it off. When its not rough i can get it to stay pretty staight. If i dont tie it off and i step on the starboard side i will do a loop in seconds but if i stay on the port side it will keep straight.
  21. Since i have been fishing out of sandy this is the highest i have seen it. I took a good fall at the public launch at sandy weeks ago on a chilly morning because the docks were under water halfway down them. I was by myself on the trailor pushing the boat off and when i jumped off onto the dock my feet came out from under me, before i knew it i was laying on my back in six inches of water . Now im much more carefull. With rain the next couple days they will be back under water probably. This could be a big change from the last couple falls when the water has been crazy low as long as we dont go through a big drought.
