Chris, great musky shot. Must have been thrilling to catch on walleye gear.
I would like to make it to Erie a few times this year for the eyes. Ok to contact you for info?
Hey guys, Jay-Ve has moved. The phone is still the same. They are now on Norton St. a building east of Portland Ave. on the south side. Sorry I don't have the street number.
They do a great job on reels at very reasonable price........
bosco, my buddy and I were just commenting about this subject over Xmas.
In the last few years we have caught 100's maybe 1000's of perch on this bay as well as Sodus and have never yet caught a stray walleye. Simply amazing don't you think..... most of the time we're using live bait.....
We have seemed to catch every other species that reside there but not a walleye???????
Excellent condition, 2730 mi, cover, reverse, studs(works great for ice fishing) liquid cooled, heated hand grips & thumb warmer, more photos available ........now $1995
Capt. John. I had a 1988 Volvo that used a 350hp GM engine. Pluses..water impeller on engine block, didn't have to tear down lower unit to exchange. I always carried a spare.. one time replaced at sea...10 min job. Lower unit was sweet, didn't have to remove every season... I had it 15 years, never had it off. Lower unit uses 10-30 oil, Had to change hydraulic trim hoses and prop seals. That was it. Minuses....finding Good Volvo shop.
John if you look at 4-stroke O/B, check out Honda.... third season so far.... love it... Quieter than the rest.... they must be bullet proof. Check the boat/motor sections of some of the sites like Walleye central.....very few reports, in a search all the others have multiple hits. I think it is just because they have very few breakdowns.
Good luck
I thought the On-off worked a little better than Slimy grimy. With On- off you still want gloves goggles, pretty strong stuff.... Another one to try and cheap....The Dollar store has a bathroom product called "The Works", for a buck how can you lose. Also I bought a cheap roller and pan. Put the roller on a old broom handle and go to town. Throw it out after your done
Have fun.... :?
MM, for tapes you can go to the Oak and check good supplies at Captains Cove and Narby's. To the east go to Sodus Point Lodge and see Jamie at Abe's tackle box,, big selection and if there's something your looking for and can't find.. ASK..... Jamie stashes some in the back and can probably get it for you
John, Thanks for your reports.
you state your working 80-90 fow and it sounds like the fish are coming 60-70 down... correct? any fish higher, no downriggers, a couple of dipsey rods
Also is the bite strictly a spoon and harness bite, any sticks working?
Thanx
I heard today, that the reason for the big drop was to make room for all the water expected from the midwest. With all their water, they need to divert as quick as possible to help with all the flooding. Hope it helps them!!
