New temporary "no-wake" within 500' of shoreline.
Rich D replied to John E Powell's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Well unfortunately if they stop the shipping, which we know they won't do, then it affects the whole country, not just our little piece of the pie. We all know that we are nothing in the eyes of the big guys. This is something we will have to deal with until Mother Nature has had enough laughs. I saw the same thing Brian, now let me ask you a question... put yourself in the shoes of people living in Montreal.... think we have it bad.... look at them. I am not saying you are right or wrong, but Lake O and Erie can hold a lot more water than the St Larry. Unfortunately this was the perfect storm for this year, between Mother Nature giving us over 3x the average precip, not just here, but the upper Great Lakes and ESP Canada. There is nothing we can do to make it go down any faster, other than pray for warmer temps and no precip. Mother Nature still holds the hand to beat, and right now she is winning. Not sure what rocks you are talking about by the plant?? There is what we call the high rocks, sharp bluffs that drop deep quick. There is also a private launch right where the bouy line starts for the Nuke plants, but it is deep enough to fish by them. Stay outside the white pin bouys from that break wall out all the way around the plants. You shouldn't need to go out there anyways, unless you are going to look for lakers!! Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

If you are fishing Mexico bay you should be fine with the waves, 2' or less, not sure where you are seeing 3-4' paperman. You have the depth correct, find green water if you can, if not fish the stained water. We have not been going any slower than 2.4 gps. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

King Slammin Shakedown 4-14
Rich D replied to King Slammin's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Actually, in certain years they can and do reside in the same waters. Last year for example, there was a 55" musky taken off Oswego while fishing for kings. 2 days later we hooked and lost a musky around the same length, 20' behind the boat, hit a stinger spoon down 95' in 105'. Have seen other skis taken while trolling for kings in the eastern basin. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

A lot better fight on lite line and spoon, I run my bt rods and 12 lb line on my riggers with spoons. No need to use the bells right now, they will eat spoons as good or better!! Lakers had gobies and smelt in there stomachs. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Had no problem finding lakers in 60-75' out of Hughes, never put a bell/peanut rig in the water. Ran. Dipsey 5-8' off bottom with flasher /fly, and 2 riggers with stingray spoons, down 30-35', fish wanted the spoons more than the flasher/fly. Had a slide diver out with a spoon and it took a laker also. Have caught them as Shallow as 10' this year. With the temps still in the 40's they can be anywhere!!!! Good Luck!!
