  1. If you make the run up and get blown off, you could always go to Oswego and pull plugs in the harbor. There should be fish starting to venture in the harbor now, rap with the rain and cooler temps at night!! Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. It is just the rod, and yes it can be shipped, would have to get shipping cost. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I was the original owner of the boat J has now, and that boat is a great boat. Yes as stated when you load the boat with 4-5 guys it takes a little longer to get up out of the hole, but it does just fine. I changed the prop, went to a stainless with a little more cup, and it is a diff boat. My suggestion is if you are looking at a boat with the vortex engine, don't be hesitant, they are producing over 200 hp and will do just fine. Those engines are nearly bullet proof, and can handle the load. Take a ride in the boat you are looking at, or better yet take J up on his offer for a ride, then you can see what they can do!!! 5. Plus telling us what ports and exact dates would be beneficial also!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Daiwa Seagate 50 for 200-300 coppers Daiwa Seagate 60 for 300-500 coppers!!! Fast retrieve and awesome drags, very loud clicker!!!! Capt Rich!!!
  7. Glenn I don't see you posting reports, and do you really think I want to have 1000 boats in the same water. I am trying to help, but I will now stop spoon feeding, no pun intended. There is plenty more pics, but too much info given in them. Good luck this weekend!!!! Capt Rich
  8. It is not hard to figure out, look at your temps and what these fish do before they run the rivers. Someone picked it up very fast, again not hard. Think like your quarry, and use your electronics. We spend big $$, listen to what it is telling you!!! Then you will be listening to screaming drags!!! Capt Rich
  9. I am not running 15 miles one way either.... Not even close!!!
  10. This one from this morning, drop too many others. 2 days ago, one of two we kept, dropped a few others... The other one..... I am also not using salmon equipt on my riggers.... Lite line boys!! I even gave some of my hottest colors... Don't be afraid!!!! Capt Rich
  11. You are not looking in the right water column..... They are there!!!!!
  12. The kings are in the eastern basin, Mexico Bay, you just need to know where to look. Here is a hint, you fish here in late June and July...... Not with cowbells, but hardware... Everyone is complaining but if you look, you will be pleasantly surprised!!! Capt Rich
  13. There was no releasing that fish, he is a friend of mine, the fish had the engulfed the spoon, and was gill hooked. They tried, but it was bleeding too bad, and would not stop, so instead of just letting it go to die, he kept it and it is headed to the wall. We dropped one 30' behind the boat today fishing off Oswego. So close, but yet so far.... Capt Rich
  14. What are you trying to accomplish by going with the fly reel? I have done it numerous times with a centerpin reel on 9'6"-11' rods, and it is a blast. But these have no drags, so it is really one on one against the fish. Capt Rich
  15. Yes it was 45lb ATOMMIK copper
  16. I don't have the exact amount, I counted passes of the levelwind, if I had to guess, would say 220-250 yards
  17. Daiwa Seagate 60 will hold a 500' copper. I used 40lb suffix braid backing. Saltist 50 will not fit a 500, biggest would be a 300' copper. They don't make a saltist 60, the Seagate is the same drag system, clicker is louder, and the speed is the same!!! Capt Rich
  18. It is on the east end of the lake, just north of Sandy Pond.
  19. IMHO best on the market!!! Have been running them for 8 years now and they work flawlessly. I run them for Browns in the spring, and run the same releases for kings, pulling big paddles down 150' plus!!! If you have any problems or questions, the owner of the company, Keith, will take care of you. Great customer service!!! Capt Rich
  20. DEff not Oz, guessing Wilson, Olcott or oak
  21. That will bring the kings home!!!!! We will see for next week!!!! Capt Rich
  22. You will be fine, they are cleaning it up now. The lake portion is already taken care of. Capt Rich
  23. Anything is possible with the winter we had, remember these fish did not go "dormant" over the winter. They will poss mature early this year due to eating all winter. Those fish you are seeing that look "mature", teeth pushing, eggs full size, could also be wild fish. When we had the clipping going on for the lake, we saw the wild fish run earlier than the hatchery fish on the SR. We could be looking at another August early run again this year. Time will tell!!! Capt Rich
  24. I can tell you one boat had 18 bites this morning on a 6 hour trip. Mostly spoon bite, yellow killer was good, all mag size spoons. The bait has slid inside, from where it was yesterday. The biggest was 24.5lbs, fleas are pretty thick, wire and 30lb line. Most could not get a meat bite, but they had a few go on meat. I will be out Sunday. Capt Rich
