  1. There are kings, Steelies, Browns and lakers to had out of Oz. Browns are anywhere from where 62 degree water meets the bottom out!! There is bait from 40-50 out, kings are from 100-300+. Steelies are mixed in with kings, and the lakers are on the bottom from 100-200'. Spoons, F/F, and meat all taking fish. Good luck!! Capt Rich
  2. It says roller tip in the heading, so that is not a twilli tip.
  3. You can always go between and run 40lb backing. I have my 400,450,500 Seagate with 40 lb backing. Gives you a little more strength than the 30, and more backing then the 50lb. I am running 45lb ATOMMIK cooper. With the 30lb PP, I have had break offs at the braid from the board. Just FYI, but no issues with the 40lb. You will love the drags and the ratio!!! Clicker is very loud also!!! Good Luck. Capt Rich
  4. Get a bigger prop, and make sure it is below the hull!!! Capt Rich
  5. DEff something is off, is it a Bigfoot, or just a 15hp motor? I have a Yamaha T25, high thrust on my 29' Aquasport express and get 6 mph WOT, and have no problems trolling into 4-6' waves. If it is not a high thrust, you should be able to change the prop to a high thrust, and see a difference. Good Luck. Capt Rich
  6. DEff fleas!! I had some on my braid dipseys that were running in the upper part of the water column off Oswego Friday and Saturday. Capt Rich
  7. The sand dunes off Sandy Pond. There is a set on the south side of the chute going into the pond and a set on the north of the chute. Off the south dunes in 140-160 has been good I am hearing . Good luck Capt Rich
  8. Team SEADUCKTION is in, kids are ready have fun!!!!
  9. That DEff was not the case on the east end!!! All day 5-8' and it is still close to that now. This weekend, Saturday should be fine for your boat. If you are looking for lakers out of the SR, run north off the dunes, there will be an armada there. Most if not all of the charters from SR will be there fishing lakers. Good luck. Capt Rich
  10. X2 for what Andy said, have to go offshore a little to find silver. There are not big numbers, but they are there. Find the bait and keep going through it!! We found 2 kings and dropped a nice steelie in 600' Saturday afternoon trip, along with a mid teen laker on a weighted spoon rod down the chute. Hopefully this wind will bring more into the basin, time will tell!! Capt Rich
  11. Look at the author of that post, he thinks he is funny and is throwing BS posts up. Nobody would stack 6 rods on one rigger!!!!
  12. Look at when he joined the site, call major BS!!! Just someone sitting behind a keyboard trying to start crap. Have to love the web!!! Those of us out there know the real story!!!
  13. Welcome back Mark!!! Glad to see you back on the big pond!! You are welcome on my boat if you want to come easy to Oz any time!!!! Rich
  14. Yes what Andy said, Bts and Lakers, the only thing those guys have to worry about are the Kings that are setup out there. Those kings are loving those baby lakers.... [emoji12]
  15. Get the navionics app for your iPhone!!!! It will tell you everything!!! Good Luck. Capt Rich
  16. Congrats Rick and team on a great week of tourney fishing!!! Keep it going!!! Rich
  17. Last report I saw that was last weekend was between calf and Big Galloo 120-150' I would say off the finger, 120-150' would be good also!! Capt Rich
  18. You can actually clean your catch on the lake, as long as you leave the skin on the fillet so it can be identified. If you have a fish that is close to the size limit, you might want to leave it whole. 1/2 mile off shore and farther is what we use as a factor. You can not gut, or fillet them in the tribs. Good Luck Capt Rich
  19. Call tuna Tom's, they have everything you need for those reels. Good Luck Capt Rich
  20. X2 on OTL statement!!! Spring fish will swim away every time unless gill hooked. I fish the tribs many days with 2-4lb leader!!! Lighter line will get bite many times more than heavier line. In Oz this week for the summer looking for those earl season bullets!!!! Capt Rich
  21. The difference that Steelfire had and catfish area, was there was color west of Oz. if you can find the color in Mexico, you will get fish. If there is an offshore wind, we start our trips earlier, leaving the dock at 500 at the latest. Saturday we were able to get a few to go before the armada joined us. Clear water equals early trips and long long leads!!! Hopefully Mother Nature will change her winds this week and give us the west winds we need!! Capt Rich
  22. Not sure why you say you don't stand a chance with 10lb Floro, that's all I use for the spring and catch numerous kings on it. If you have quality gear, and the drags are working properly, good knots, you should have no problem landing those kings!! Nice report glad to see you were able to get some of those brownies to go!!! Capt Rich
  23. Going to be cold in the bar this yea too with all this north and east winds, will suck that ice water right in. Should keep the eyes in the bay longer, esp of the bait has not been in yet to spawn!! Good luck guys!! Capt Rich
