I have ran a kicker on my last 2 boats, will never have one without it!!! Like what has already been stated: wear and tear on main engine, fuel savings, and I your case, a way to get back in if main breaks down. With my current rig, 29' Aquasport, I also have a bag out and handy, just incase it gets snotty. The bag will settle the boat right into the waves, and prevent the bad rocking motion. Good luck with which ever way you go, any questions shoot me a pm. Capt Rich

I have 3 Daiwa Accudepth 17 lc's for sale. All 3 are in excellent condition, 1 has just been completely gone through, new drags and antireverse parts, done by Tuna Tom's. The other 2 are working perfectly, only reason I am selling is I replaced them with saltist line counters. Asking $40 for the one just reconditioned, and $30each for the other 2. All reels spooled with 12lb Suffix superior mono. Located in central NY for pickup or will ship for extra charge. Thanks for looking Capt Rich.

Rochester report
Rich D replied to brucehookedup's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Really blow boater??? I got my Capts license and run a guides business to put people on fish. But it is guys that have to post pics of 20-40 fish, or post a report that they hit 40 fish every time out so the can pump the chest out that I am referring to. This spot is one of those spots that it can be done, that's why I am bringing this up. I don't sell my trips on numbers, but on the fact of getting out and caching fish, doing it legally and having fun. But in today's world it seems that everyone needs to outdo everyone else. We can thank social media for, and this is one of those places unfortunately. I have had more people book trips to get away from all of the crap of the daily grind, catch some fish and have an enjoyable day. That's what fishing is about, not seeing who can catch more than everyone else. We are seeing the same thing on the tribs with regards to Steelies and Browns. Look at all the crying about no trout in the tribs this past fall and winter. What most don't remember are the days when you could go days without hooking much less landing a steelie. One of the reasons our lake trip hours have been reduced so much over the last couple years is because no one wants to come to the lake for only 1-4 fish, unless they want to fish for lakers. Not trying to start an argument but it is reality, and it is pretty sad to see it being only about catching big numbers of fish. I can't respond to why you were allowed to stay inside the bouys, but I can tell you it won't be tolerated here on the east end!! Capt Rich. -

That was actually Nine Mile 1 that we used to fish behind. It was an awesome fishery back in the day, and still would be. I work at Fitz, and we see fish in our intake channels all year. With the system that has been installed none of these fish are destroyed by the plant, so they can come and go whenever they want. But like what was stated before, everyone that is on the lake knows the rules, they are posted at every launch in the area. Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and abide by the rules. I have fished at the Ginna plant, you don't need to be inside the bouys to catch fish!!!! Really is too bad most people are more about numbers and not about the experience and just being on the water. Capt Rich -

I run multiple shirt cores in my spread. I run 1,2,3 color cores in shallow, and go longer when we go deeper out to full cores. 1-2 colors are deadly for shallow bts!!! Capt Rich. -

Have run the 20,30,50 for 5 years now, love them!!!! For riggers you don't need linecounters, for wires, yes you will need the counters. Smoothest drag on the market, and one of the fastest retrieves, if not the fastest. Not sure what the okumas are now. No need to replace the drags out of the box. Only thing I have heard any complaints is the clicker is not loud, does not bother me, but I can hear it just fine... You can't go wrong with the saltist!!!! Capt Rich

The rod holders are the factory Scotty holders that come on the 2116's. I usually do not use them, except as a spare or out my mini dipseys in them. I use the Berts on the gunnels for my rigger rods. Thanks!! Capt Rich

Gps speed was 2.2-2.4, BR and jr t sticks were run 125' back on in lines, 1 color cores on inlines, was running a 2 color and a deep diving smash shad flat lined off the back of the boat, 100' back. Smash shad was prob my hottest lure. Those BR are the shorts!! . This guy was a little hungry!!!! Capt Rich -
