  3. How long is it Brian?? Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. A better way I found with 2 identical reels is count full passes. Like was said before the counters can and will be diff between reels. I write down the passes for backing, and then copper. I use Suffix performance braid in 50lb test. Good Luck. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Nice!!! Glad to see the old girl is making her new owner happy!!! Keep up the good work Jack!!!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Browns are starting to go on the bouy line, also 25-40' off catfish. Should only get better, we found a pile of lakers off red building 240-290, all in the top 40'. Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Chas, I have not seen any fleas out there. Only thing we are getting is the cotton wood fuzz. I don't think the water is warm enough yet for the fleas. JMHO. Lots of cotton wood out there on the temp break today. Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Which end of the lake?? East end or west end Sandy Creek??? Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Yes I agree Jason, don't think we will see 27lbs for summer LOC. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Did you fish the top 40'??? Friday and Saturday were nothing short of incredible for us, over 40 fish hit the deck. But we did not run anything below 40', 1,2,3,4,5,7 colors and riggers set from 15-35 down. Lakers, steelies and kings, it was fun. Usually when the first rod went, it ended with a double or triple. Good Luck out there, if you have the temp just because you are not marking fish, does not mean they are not there. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I think you guys are shooting for the stars to see a king that big this summer. There has not been anything to come close to 30 lbs on the lake yet this spring. The fall loc, maybe mid 30's this year, but with the winter we had, the fish were not packing on the pounds like they have the last 2 years. I hope I am wrong, but have not seen or heard anything yet to see any different. Good Luck out there and enjoy what Lady O is giving us this year, fish in the top 50' of water in mid June...... Unheard of!!!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. They are fine, there is another thread started here. They will be up to join is soon!!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. The fish were Deff farther west. We were west of the plants Saturday and Sunday and had good action in the mornings. Lakers, steelies and kings, all fish came from surface down to 40'. Cores, riggers and dipseys all produced. There was a sharp temp break out over 190-220', our fish came on the warm side of the break. Very cold water out there still, going to be a while until the Tcline sets up. Stingers and stingrays in the UV colors all worked! Good Luck and toght lines. Capt. 14. We run free sliders and also fixed/MUPP rigs, both have their time and place. I run short 2-3' leads for free sliders, and a little longer for my fixed. On the fixed we have found the offshore OR 16 pinch pad to be a quick and easy way to attach the line. It will not move up or down, and has the pin to keep from slipping off the main line. Good Luck and tight lines. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Dan, This has been a spring where you have to run a little to get fish. Early on was great, 20-40 fish days, then the water cleared up, had to run north or west. With the cold temps the bait did not show up until last week. North dried up, then you had to run west to get fish. The lakers are there, steelies are offshore with a few kings mixed in. Hopefully things will stabilize, and the fish in the bay turn around. Keep an eye here for reports, it will get better real soon!! Good Luck and tight lines. 16. Ok, what lb main line are you running? Tough to tell how much bow you have in the line from rod to release, if it is excessive, that could actually cause the release to trip from backwards pressure. When I lower my rigger weight, I point the rod tip right at the water and keep it tight. The less line between the rod and release, means quicker hook ups, and less drops. Tighten up the upper adjustment a little more. For spring I will run the lower adjustment very lite due to all the skippys. Give it a shot, let us know how it works. Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. The fish on front of the plant moved west, Deff have to run farther to get on them since last week. The bait is just now starting to show in the bay, it can only get better!!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. I agree about the B60, had the Furuno 620 with airmar transom mount triducer on old boat, worked great, but went with B60 on new boat and have a much clearer pic while running, with no interruptions. I was looking into the 1k ducer also, but after talking to a few friends that went that route, decided the 600 was Much better for our waters. Good Luck Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Welcome John, glad to see you are online. Stop over to see the boat some time. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Gary, do you have a pic of your rigger setup on your boat? Where you run your rods can affect the Chamberlains in the spring season due to the lite adjustments we use. If the rod is too far back, and you are setting them loose, a small wave or current can actually trip them. Post a pic of your setup if you can. In have been running them since the they showed up on the scene. If you have any questions shoot me a PM. Good Luck and tight lines. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. There is only 4-6 permits left, and yes they are used up there every year. You can call, but these guys are watched very carefully, they will be gone soon. Good Luck Tight lines. Capt Rich NY Guide Service Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  23. Team SEADUCKTION will be there!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. No alewives in the bay yet. Too cold!!!! Bait is still deep!!!! Cold clear water you need to be out in the dark, when the sun comes up they shut down. We need west-north west winds for the bay to pick back up again. Good Luck and tight lines. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Yes the main marker bouys you see on the water are taken out in the fall and replaced with pin bouys to mark the anchors. This year the ice took all of the pin bouys away. Good Luck and tight lines. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
