  1. The Seagates are a better reel in that price range and give you a better drag, and high retrieve rate. I ran the Sealine, and the seagate is a much better reel. They have the same drag system as the Saltist. I run Saltist and the Seagates for all of my full cores, and all of my coppers. Capt Rich. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Go with the Daiwa Seagate 60, I have them spoiled from 350-500’. Same drag as the saltist and the high speed retrieve. My customers love them!!!! They won’t break the bank either!! Capt Rich. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. That is exactly how I have been running mine for 10 years. Never had a problem!!! Send it!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Pretty much every fish we got Saturday was thick and healthy. We had one with a big lamprey on it, which went back in multiple pieces. But that was the only one that I recall that had a mark on it. We did a few skippys also, which I was glad to see. This is my second trip out in a couple weeks, and these were the first little guys i had seen. We have got a good number of fish that did not run the tribs this season!!! They were munching on gobies, had a few that were spitting them up when they came aboard!! Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I can concur it was great to be on the lake last weekend!!! We had over 30 to the net, with the biggest being this 18lb hen. They were all released to fight another day!!! Capt Rich. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Just stating facts Gill, sorry you thought you needed to clarify. But i guess if you know how to use them, then they wouldn’t dig into your wrist. Most of clients actually use it to their advantage. Oh well to each their own, if you don’t like them I will take them off your hands. Capt Rich. 7. Clunky??? Pretty funny that you buy a 180-200$ reel and have to send them away to get redragged!!! My Saltists are still going strong and have had them since they came out. I went to 40’s on my salmon rigger rods and also my wire rods, love them!!!! Line pick up is fast, and the power handles are awesome!!! Run my 30’s for braid, longer cores and I will be setting up a couple lite wires this year!!! You can’t go wrong!!! Capt Rich!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I have all of my long coppers on Seagate 60’s, 350-500’. I went to 30lb suffix braid backing on 450-500’. No problems at all, best way I found was to have a second reel, put your copper on, then the backing until spool is full. Then reel it on to the other reel, count your passes for backing and copper, and wrote it down. The drag system and retrieve is unbeatable, especially for the price!!! 17. There is no tourney in Oz this weekend. Other than the 3 county slam. My morning trip was cut short and we ended 7-15. Had just found a good pod of fish when we had to pull lines. They are spread out. I had spoons, flies, and meat go. 250,300 coppers, 180-240 divers. Speed was everything. Worked anywhere from 95-210!! Capt Rich. 23. Was out Saturday and Sunday and we had a lot of fun!!! Brown trout fishing was a little slow, but the Kings were there and willing to play!!! 65-100’ Saturday was west of chute and Sunday I was straight out to a little east. Riggers set 35-55’, stingrays in Lances 2 face, carbon 14, grn glow alewive Uv, frost bite, dirty broom stick Uv, marvs big fatty pulling an ATOMMIK 041, and a prototype flasher we are testing pulling an ATOMMIK meat rig on a 200’ copper also went. We marked a lot of fish, but I believe the bait is right to the bottom due to the cold water still. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
