  1. With those winds, ESP if they are cranking, you will be better to stay in black river bay, or make the run around pillar point to Chaumount bay. Still a little early to call the wind speed yet. Just remember, the windward side will have the bait piled up on it... Good Luck Capt. Rich
  2. Each tourney has its own set boundaries that you can leave from, which ones are you questioning??? Capt Rich
  3. Need pics to look the transom over for ideas. Capt Rich
  4. If your looking for surface currents, then run your probe down 2-4'. Since that is where your unweighted plugs will be running. There are numerous times that there is no surface currents, but just a couple feet below the surface there is a current. So even if you have surface speed, you still would not see it. Another thing to remember, those paddle wheels on the surface can get screwed up a lot easier with debris, etc so they are not as reliable as your actual probe. I have the new x4d, and love it so far, I always put the probe down, even if it is just a couple feet. Good luck!! Capt Rich
  5. SOLD Thank you for looking. Capt Rich

  9. I want to recover the combing pad/cushion on the transom, I have done some research and found Naugahyde to be a good material to use. Is there any other material I need to look at, I need waterproof, very rip resistant, and something that will last a while. The original lasted over 12 years, so I am hoping to find something along that lines. Thanks for your time. Capt Rich
  10. Jealous of what Greg????? Please elaborate!!! LMFAO
  11. Are you sure Jeremy??? I was thinking wedding bells were in the future!!!!
  12. You can run either cable, but you will get more blowback with the coated cable. The coated cable will not get you better signal, if you are fishing deep water temps, esp on the east end, the blow back could cause you to lose signal. Capt. Rich
  13. Wayne, If you are running a Fishhawk unit, you do not need a coated cable, that is what the black cable is you are talking about. This cable is for units that use the rigger cable to transfer the info to the unit mounted on your dash. Yours should have a transducer on the back of your boat, correct? If so, then you can use regular rigger cable. Capt. Rich

  19. That fish deff had me fooled while it was coming to the net, that is for sure!!! I Love the Booty Lady O is giving up this year!!! 11th place king and 1 st place youth!!!! You know it is a good day when you are throwing 28-29lb kings back saying they are too small!!!! Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  20. Depending how deep your main rig is, if it is fairly shallow then you wil need to leave a little bow in the line. But if you are deep, say 80' plus then you should be ok with no extra bow in the rod. Good Luck. Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  21. ER, That will happen on the retrieve, it should not be the case while running in the release. I have also gone to shorter leads, 2'-3', and found no change in the number of releases on the slider. Also make sure you run a bead at the swivel to stop the slider from getting to the lower lure. I run a floro leader to my bottom spoon, approx 6-7' long, swivel, then bead on the main line. Capt. Rich
  22. Not saying you are wrong with the color selection, but if you are running your rigger down 100 plus feet, you could be targeting 2 diff species, ie salmon down deep, and steelies or bts up high. Since a free slider runs roughly half way, that could 2 differant areas of the water column. Don't be afraid to run some steelie or bt colors on your sliders, oranges, pinks, reds etc. If you are doing fixed sliders, ex MUPP rig, then yes deff same pattern. Good Luck. Capt. Rich
  23. Depends on the fish's mood, this past weekend I ran 3 setups for bts. We had 2 MUPP rigs, with leads that were 12-15' back, then 10' above I had the stingray size on a 4'lead, my other rig was used as a tailgunner, back 50'-60'. All rigs took fish, don't be surprised if you find a king in those warm waters either!!!! Good Luck. Capt. Rich
