  1. I second Sticks, The owners are great, and it is midway between Oswego and Mexico. Capt. Rich
  2. Capt. Scott Lennox of Pole Postion charters, or Capt. Bob Dick of Moby Dick Charters are 2 of the finest in that area. Lots of structure in that area, I fished that area for 20 plus years, my suggestion is to keep a log, be as accurate as you can. I have my logs from that area, and bet I can go back to those same spots and the fish will be there. Good Luck. Capt. Rich
  3. Awesome Report Nick, I will be out late this week, hope to have some reports also!!! Capt. Rich
  4. Here is one site Chris: http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers/prop-selector/#
  5. Chris, There should be a tag on your motor with the WOT specs, there is a website that you can plug in the specs of your boat, length, weight, motor etc. then you will get a couple diff props, depending on what you are looking for. I will try to find it, and post the link here. Capt. Rich
  6. I second the Furuno, I have the 620, will upgrading to the 585 next season!!! Capt. Rich
  7. Sold pending payment, Thanks for looking. Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Sold pending payment. Thanks for looking. Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  9. I have a pair of Super Ski Planer Reels, I have urgraded, so these need to go. I will put pics later, $75.00 OBO plus shipping if they need to be shipped for the pair. Thanks For Looking, Capt. Rich
  10. LMAO, just let the dog roll in it for a bit, it will be all gone...
  11. It will protect the line from getting nicked by pliers, teeth, or anything that can damage that fragile area. Rich
  12. Al, You can order right from their website, Or call All Seasons, Jons, and also try Fat Nancys. Capt. Rich
  13. When you go back to the dock, go over to the boat Water Wolf, my buddy Darryl, Raaven on here is the first mate. Have him show you that trick for making your own leaders. It is so much nicer, since you can change the bead colors, and make longer leaders if need be. No more "bite Offs" Good Luck. Rich
  14. Sorry to hear about this Jon. Hopefully the name will come out. There should be a no tolerances policy when it comes to behavior and ethics at ALL tournaments & derbies. These events are a privilege and we all need to appreciate the hard work & money put forth by the coordinators. IMO, Anyone that gets out of line behaviorally, or cheats, should be banned from ALL events. DQ's happen, we have seen many experienced and reputable teams make honest mistakes. It's how you handle yourself after the fact that defines you as a person (or team). I so agree with Rod, esp when there are kids in the area. These tourneys take a lot of time and $$ to pull off, and most people do not understand this. It is guys like these that will kill a tourney quicker than anything. Jon I will be up to see you soon. Capt. Rich
  15. Hey Rich, I run 50lb from dipsey to spinny, the bite off was just above the treble, probably that 40lber [ Post made via Android ] Next question, do you tie your own leaders or use factory shipped leaders? When I tie my own, I run the tag end of the leader up through the bottom of the treble so the line can not be "cut" off by the fish, making it look like a bite off. It is really easy to do. If you do this, or use epoxy in the gap already, then you have a true bite off... Capt. Rich
  16. Nick, What are you running for leader on that Dipsey? I run no snubber on my dipseys, you can go up to 40-50 lbs of floro. I usually run 30, and have no problems, Knock on Wood. Go gettum!!! Wish I was out there with you guys. Capt. Rich
  17. That is what I was just going to say, manual says do not fire up unit with ducer attached to unit out of water. Supposedly it could burn the ducer out, you could call Airmar and ask them directly. Would hate to see you burn one out so soon. Good Luck Capt. Rich
  18. I have used the 620 for the last few years, the machine is incredible. Which ducer did you get? I have the airmar triducer, and have no issues with seeing the arches, bottom or riggers. if you look through the manual you will find how to program it for the window you are asking for. I am at work, do not have the manual in front of me. Don't give up on it, the auto mode is good to very good, but once you get used to it, the manual mode is even better. You can call furuno, great service techs, and they can walk you through your problems. Good luck, keep us posted. Capt. Rich
  19. Pete, AWESOME, I have been looking at those boats for the past couple of years, that is a great platform. Best of luck with the new ride. I need to get over and look at one in person to see if it will fit the bill!!!! I am drooling just looking at the pics.\ Rich
  20. , and by far the best of them all the cottage inn restaurant in red creek highly recommended [ Post made via iPhone ] I second the Cottage Inn!!! when are we going back Mike????
  21. I second the Saltist size 30. 1000' fits perfectly, not sure if you are looking at wire or not. If you are looking to use just braid, you will be fine with the 20 or 30. Capt. Rich
  22. I run a High thrust Yamaha T8 on a 24' Thompson hardtop Fisherman, no issues at all with speed, unless you get into 4' or great waves. Usually by then we would be heading in anyways, unless it is tourney time, then we start the big engine. Capt. Rich
  23. Well, did the 20's work like I said???? Sweet report, can't wait to get the first silver lockedup!!!!
  24. I second Stick's, great place and Mike and Bobbie are great. Close proximity to Mexico and Oswego. Capt. Rich
