  7. Look at the number of wild fish in this video, makes you wonder how naturally produced fish we actually have!!! Have to love mother nature.
  8. Main line is 10-12lb for me, as far as the floro leader, usually it is 8-10 but if the clear water stays with us, dropping down to 6lb is not out of the question. Just make sure the drags are set appropiately, and you should be good to go. Capt. Rich

  10. Jay, I was going to dump the DB in at Mexico on Thursday, but noone wanted to go. UGGGHH it was killing me with the low winds, and no ice. Those BTs have got to be hungry!!! Rich

  16. We ran 2 for wire and 2 for lite line rods, and the performed flawlessly. Also running those lite line rods on the river for back trolling, AWESOME!!! esp when you have a steelie run right at the boat, and you can keep up with them. I agree on the placement of the counter, but that is the only downfall. I also wish they made one size smaller than the 20, those would be lining my gunnel for bts. Will be getting more this season!!! Good Luck Capt. Rich
  17. What price range are you looking at? Lots of great units out there, more info needed to narrow it down. Capt. Rich
  18. I agree about the Saltist, great reels, but the counter can cause some people problems with placement. Also the 30's do have a weak clicker, but that is minimal. Have run the accudepth plus's since they have come out, and none have missed a beat. If you are a weekend warrior, they will work just fine, but if you can afford the little extra for the saltist, you will not be dissapointed. Good Luck, Capt. Rich NY Guide Service
  19. Do yourself a favor and try the Chamberlains, You can adjust the rod tension, and also the lure tension seperate. I can crank my rods right down to the water, and still have a shaker bt release it with no problem, have not dragged a shaker in over 4 years. Chamberlain also came out with a stacker release, and it works great. I replaced my release on my probe rigger, and have added one of these to my probe rigger. If you have any questions, you can contact the owner directly, Keith is a great guy, and has really done his homework on these releases. Good Luck. Capt. Rich
  20. That will do it, the retrieves are not what tears the cable up, it is usually a dipsey wire, a fish getting wrapped up in the cable, or bad currents that twist your rigger cables.
  21. I second Jeb, ordered 2 more for my tracks a couple months ago, stay away from Plastic for dipseys!!!!!!! Unless you have spare that you want to throw away watching your dipsey rigs going for a swim. Good Luck Capt. Rich
  22. Adam, I have used the retrieval on my Cannons for the past 3 years with my probe, and no problems. Just make sure it is in the roller, and you should have no issues at all. Good Luck. Capt. Rich
  23. I second what Glen says, the evening can be incredible. The last hour of light can be some of the best fishing of the day. Incredible to watch the kings just sort of rise off the bottom and turn the feed bag on. We have done many doubles and triples in the last hour of light. Good Luck, any time spent fishing with the kids is a great thing!!!!! Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  24. I run a 15lb shark, very little blow back. Alot depends on what riggers you have, as to what size weights you can use. Capt. Rich [ Post made via iPhone ]
  25. I ran the tite loks for many years, on 2 differant boats, I ran dipseys out of them no problem. Mine were not the pull pin, but the screw adjustment. They did twist a bit with the wire, but all you needed to do was take them off the base, and tighten the screws in the bottom. I have since upgraded to the berts adjustables, and GL Planers triple trees. I would still be fishing the tite loks if the $$ was not there to buy the new stuff. No complaints here. Capt. Rich
