Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:SEADUCKTION ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: lots Total Boated:almost as many as hits Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Stingers in a variety of colors Trolling Speed: 2.9 Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS We fished the Challenge with an all kids team, my 2 kids and my buddy's son. We looked for the big boys Friday, did not find a picture I liked, we ended up 17 for 20 something with a mixed bag of lakers, steelies, shakers and brownies. Saturday found us in the brown stomping zone, the kids picked the lures, and it was off to the races we went. They did a great job of fighting the fish and bringing them to net. We lost a couple at the net, but that was it. We ended up going 15 for 19 I think. Biggest was 11.4 lbs, we upgraded 3 times throughtout the day, which ended up putting the kids in 15th place. Temps were high in the water column, but with the west winds kicking, I knew it was not going to last. We headed out Sunday for a couple hours before my buddy headed back to MA. Found the temps were down considerably. We did some searching, and headed toward port. Again letting the kids pick the lures, his son picks an orange killer, which is going out on the slidediver. About 20 minutes later, and the reel starts screaming, knowing this was set on the up side of temp scale, I told Brad it was either a teenage king, or a big brown. After 15 minutes, the fish staying deep, then coming to the surface, and then starts to act like a king, swimming with the boat, I see the body of a huge brown. I change nets and grab the salmon net, tell Brad to loosen the drag a little, knowing that this bad boy is going to go crazy at the back of the boat. After a few intense minutes of seeing the big boy just out of reach, I slide the net under this beast. About an hour after catching him, the weight was 19.8lbs on a certified scale, and it is in the care of Maggie at Fishwish now. Enjoy some of the pics. Jordan's 14 plus pound Laker Bryn's 11.4 lb brown Look out guys, the kids are in the cup series, and they take no prisoners!!! They ended 4th last year, just 3 fish from taking the cup. Team SEADUCKTION. ====================

Andy, I know they ask on the Salmon river, I have been stopped at the launches numerous times and have heard this question being asked, I can not say about the rest of the tribs along the lake. IF anyone went to the State of the Lake meetings, they had the numbers of for and against this. Depending on the time of the run, you could see the change of opinion switch from keep 3 to keep 1. IMHO this regulation is more focused for the western tribs, and I am wondering if it is being pushed by a certain couple groups myself. Maybe they should make it limit of 3, but only 1 over a certain pre set size for trophy fish. I see both sides of the argument, either way there is no right or wrong answer. Rich

Like Brian said wind it on tight, then when you get out on the lake, attach a 1lb ball weight or something with weight and let it out almost all the way to the end. Then wind it back on, that will prevent and line digging that can occur with wire. I have used both 7 and 19 strand wire and have never had problems with either one. Good Luck. Capt. I agree with Andy and Brian, the plastic holders will not hold up to the rigors of a wire setup and multiple king hits for an extended period of time. JMHO Capt. Rich

I have used the Suffix Elite in 10lb for the past 3 years, have not had any problems at all. Not a lot of line twist, does not get brittle when it is cold, and is very abrasion resistant. I use the clear, or the yellow versions. Good Luck

Well my customer from March 15 got her mount back, and she is HAPPY. Here are the pics of the mount, and the fish. The work was done by Lakeside Taxidermy in Fulton, NY. Donnie does incredible work. Rich

TAG, Talked to a buddy yesterday, was out in 600' 2 days ago, 178' of cable out had 66 degrees, not looking good at all. Still marking lots of fish that will run this year in 200 plus, but they have lock jaw. I was thinking of running deep, but he said the bait and fish were below 180. Good Luck if you get out, calling for lots of big w and NW winds coming the next couple of days. Hoping things change for October, going to go looking for next years kings if the weather permits. Rich

Looks good Mike, But get out of my spot. lmao Wont be long and it is game on in the river. Rich

Rocky, You are correct, there is merchandise heading to the Fairhaven Challenge because it did not make it to us in time. If you were at the Capts meeting you should have got one of the flies, that is where the capts packs were given out. Rich

Tag, Those bouys are not being placed by the DEC. It is a company hired by one of the nuke plant owners, they are doing research on the fish in the area. From what I understand, they are not nets, but fish traps. Rich
