  1. Yup what Yankee said. I have run the small big jon diver discs off the boards, but they do not have a large amount of pull. they work great for BT's in the early spring. Rich
  2. Sweet pics Bill, hope this wind does not screw us up for this weekend. We will be in town on Saturday pm and fishing until next Thursday. Don't catch them all, see you out there. Rich
  3. Way to go Rod, keep us posted, sounds like it is heating up out there nicely. Congrats on the big fish, tell Janz I said hi. See you in 10 days. Rich
  4. Thanks Pat, we will be splashing Thursday. On the lake on sunday I hope. Waiting to see what the winds are going to do. Rich
  5. Pete, Brad is correct the weigh in will be at Jon's, not sure what the cut off time is, but I will check that out and let you know. It is shaping up to be a really fun one day derby. Rich
  6. Alright, I just got off the phone with Jon, the registration forms are available at the bait shop. He has to reprint the flyers because they have added more sponsors. The date is May 30 with a blow day for the 31st. This is strictly a Brown Trout derby, no other fish will be counted toward your total weight. You can give Jon a call at the shop 315-963-7800 if you have any other questions. Hope to see you there. Rich
  7. Well said Gambler, they do a great job, don't see them changing the dates. Rich [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. Nick, I hear ya on that, I just put a fuse block on the back transom so I could put all those elctronics on that instead of the battery. No Problems, and less wires to the battery. Any more pics of the new ride????? Rich
  9. Thanks Pat, I will do that, keep us posted if you get out again this weekend. Good Luck. Rich
  10. Great report Pat, glad to see they are out there and waiting. It is shaping up to be a good spring, there is a ton of BT's still in the river. Hoping to splash next weekend. How did my dock look on the way up the river? Rich
  11. That is correct, the launch is private, for the town of Scriba's residents. If they find your vehicle there with out a permit, they will tow it and or ticket it you. You can go to Catfish Creek, they have a launch if it is to far for you to go. Good Luck. Rich
  12. Carl, The Mexico Point Launch is open, not sure if the docks are in, but you can launch there no problem. God Luck. Rich
  13. Ok here are the pics I took tonight, I just placed the second keel where is it going to go, not mounted yet. This what the second keel looks like in comparison to the original. Rich
  14. Come on, just buy new electric reels for that new boat. lol Almost time Brian. Rich
  15. Ok an update on the keels for the otters. I called Big Jon and found out that the new keel gets added to the inside of the big one. You have to drill new holes , which is no big deal, so there will be 2 keels. I plan on doing the drilling this week, then I will post pics. I will take some pics of the new keels and post them tonight if I get a chance. Rich
  16. Nick, Looks great, betting you will be getting some better sleep now at the dock. Now get those holes drilled and riggers mounted and get it wet. Keep us posted with pics, love to see boats as they progress. Good Luck. Rich
  17. Here is the Savant Jake patter. I was involved with the making of this pattern. The owner of the company has done his research, and it is one of the closest paint jobs I have seen. I have also taken fish, Browns, and salmon on this spoon suspended more than 50' off bottom. I know gobies do not swim that far up, but I have seen it more than once, so don't be afraid to suspend those patterns. http://www.savantspoon.com/jake-gobi.html Rich
  18. Pat, It was in the lower teens up on the lake this morning, I would wait till we can get that water temp up a tad bit more, or we have nights above freezing. Down where you have your boat does not get much sun, so it will not warm up very much. JMHO, I am figuring mid April for ours. Good Luck, it is not worth cracking a block over BT's just yet. Rich
  19. Chris, It is almost time, the river is open and Mike is putting docks in I hear. As far as main line, if you are not going to run these rigs for salmon, then go with 12 lb, I use Big Game, but there are many other brands out there. Then I will use lighter leaders, anywhere from 10 down to 8 florocarbon. If the water is stained you can get away with the main line, but if it is clear, you will want floro, will up your odds for sure, esp when the crowds show. Give me a shout this weekend on the cell, and I will try to help if you have any more questions. Won't be long now. Rich
  20. Spike, call them and ask what the shipping would be, I think it was 17dollars for me in CNY. Does not hurt to ask. goo dLuck. Rich
  21. MG, I will take a few pics when I get them setup, it looks like they added a second keel to the boat for more pulling. I will put them together this week. Rich
  22. YEs Fatnancy's is still in business, just redoing their site I believe. As stated, get the blems right from Big Jon, just got mine this week, along with the additional keels for running copper of them, can't wait to get them on the water. Good Luck. Rich
  23. Yup, the seconds are just fine, I just recieved mine yesterday, and I also ordered the extra keel for pulling copper. great guys/gals at Big jon. Rich
  24. Erin, I will be getting my 48" tracks in a week or so, I will call you with the hole patterns. Can't wait to get them on an the boat in the water. Rich
