Frogger.... you are correct in your understanding that is for the next 5 years!!!! Trust me there is a large number of us that are not happy about these dates, and we were never approached for Input!! It is my understanding that there is a meeting tomorrow in Avon, NY in regards to these dates. But I am guessing they are keeping that quiet also so as to not be inundated with irate hunters!! If that is not the case, please put the time and address out so others can attend!! This state is looking like it is following PA with its dates trying to allow deer hunters to get the rut and also able to hunt the duck seasons, like was stated before!!! Our customers and fellow guides and to say the least pissed at these new dates!!! So we need to keep this in mind whenever someone hears about an upcoming waterfowl season meeting, we need to make ourselves heard!!! how to firm up weak cured eggs?
Rich D replied to NYS_Steelhead_Stalker's topic in Tackle and Techniques
You can try water curing them now. Get some distilled water, unless you are on a well. Put them in a container or bag with water for 5-10 minutes. Drain the water and let dry until they get sticky. I have water cured, then have added the powder cures afterwards and they come out great. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
proposed cormorant control in Ontario.REMINDER 3RD JAN DEADLINE

I saw this yesterday, would love to see it happen, but it never will!!! If it did, that would just push those birds to our side of the lake even more, and we know how this state feels about them!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
I agree with the QDM standards, would love to see it in NY, but don’t think we ever will!! I would like to see the buck limit drop to 1 Buck per year per hunter. Also shorter gun seasons for north and southern zones!! I agree about the first time hunter/youth being able to shoot whatever buck they like also. We have the genetics, and the food to grow trophy bucks in this state, just need everyone to be on the same page, again we will never see it. Also there is too many places that are no kill on does. What they don’t realize or fail to accept is hey are only hurting their own herd!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Another 20% CUT in Chinook Stocking for 2019
Rich D replied to Tall Tails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Actually below the hatchery is where the salmon river meets beaver dam brook, which is what the hatchery is on. So if that was the case, they would have a barrier on the main river, to divert all salmon to the brook, and into the hatchery. Also there is spawning taking place from the bottom of the DSR all the way up to the Lower res dam. Along with all the tribe that flow into the main stem. Also when the license came up for renewal on the hydro dam, they would not have put the minimum flows into the FERC agreement. Capt Rich. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
My buddy shot this one at 725 this morning. We were covered up with coyotes, we were looking to get a shot on one of the dogs when he heard a twig snap behind him. Turned and all he saw was horns coming, deer was on him quick, 27yard shot. 60 yard track job. Only deer we saw this morning. This was taken on public land, I found a gut pile that one of the dogs was feeding on. Keep at guys, it’s time for them to be on the move!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Daiwas, convectors or coldwater
Rich D replied to back on eerie 2016's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
For coopers and braid, saltist and seagates as was stated by Tyee. Saltist 50 will hold up to 300’ copper with plenty of backing. Then switch to the seagates for anything bigger up to 500’ copper. Capt Rich Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
