Hee hee, I'll wait till you do your tear down and see what YOU think.
Honestly though, I don't have any idea. This is my first I/O, I don't know a thing about EZ steer, and I'm open to all suggestions.
Thanks JBB, the hand positions just don't look right to me for the size of the fish. I'll take your word for it though. It's the first time I've seen these pics.
Thanks for the musky info too.
Thanks Ray. It took me about an hour to winterize mine for the first time I've done it and was wondering how the heck you do it all the time. Lookin forward to spring.
Ray, are you getting away with not winterizing or do you have heated storage for your rig? I'd love to get out there with mine, but it's a pain to winterize if I spend all day on the water. I'm not used to this I/O stuff. Thanks
Erbyjoe put you on to some good info. You might also go through the past "Fishing Reports" for the months you plan on fishing and see what the guys report they are using. Good luck and hope to see you on the water this season out of Oswego.
Thanks for the link Yankee. If all else fails, I'll make something up. Like you say though, the steering linkage will be tricky. Here's what I have to work with.........
Chris, I just done reading your article re: Trolling Part III
Excellent article and you really pumped me up to get out on Erie and give it a try. Very well written and lots of info. Nice job.
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone makes or has made a bracket that fits on a swimplatform. I'd hate to get stranded miles offshore and not have a back up motor to get in on.
I use 2 5 gal. buckets. Drilled a doorknob hole in each side near the bottom and throw them over the side. They're measured so they come to midpoint on each side of the boat. They get me down to 1.3 and work beautiful on my 22' Islander.
