Like W.W.IV. said, it's a lot of info in one post. You've only got a short time before you get to the lake and there's an awful lot to try to learn in a few days. I would honestly suggest you tie up with someone who charters out of Fair Haven for your first day there. When you go out, tell him you are only there for the week and you want to learn as much as you can. Pay attention to what speed you are going, what depths the fish are at, lures used that are catching fish, and everything else about your day out. It might cost you a few bucks, but it's the best money spent when you figure you're going to catch fish vs not catching fish on your own. Salmon trolling is not an easy way of fishing, but when you hear that reel screaming, you'll be hooked.
