I use and old 35 mm camera with the flash on it, no film just keep fresh batteries on board to charge away. It can be deadly when they want glow. Fall staging kings in the mud early morning, down deep kings middle of the day...I use my on board lights to get them "charging" while im riggin rods and gettin ready to leave the dock then before I deploy them I give em a flash up close with the camera.

Yes sir, that is correct. All the autopilot does is to try to keep the bow of the boat aligned with a compass heading. As long as you can steer your kicker engine with your main steering wheel where the autopilot is hooked up to your good to go.

Thanks for the videos keep em coming and spring will be here before we know it. I got a cabelas advertisement that said---mid winter sale---- that was motivating!

ok EASY on the pink croc comment, I think the true color is called "Hot Salmon" FISHINMAN isnt in view in the photo because he got a treble stuck in his finger and is dancing around like a schoolgirl looking for pliers off camera.

chowder- I would just splice off some of the coated cable 18 -24 inches and use that(pull off the coating if its the black easy to remove kind. You wouldnt want a # test stronger than your main rigger cable. If the coating isnt easily removable just use some old rigger cable in the same # test as your rigger cable you run now. Good luck Merry Christmas!

If you want removable use a terminator at each end for changin weights etc. Use the same knot you use for wire line and use a crimp for the excess. Nice and clean result and functional. I use Klinchers on all my terminations - nice and easy, affordable http://www.marinamarket.com/istar.asp?a=6&id=241180 Just googled it to get a picture not to sure of the website. Something to think about also if you run sharks or exp downrigger balls under a probe- I bumped up the # test cable that comes with it for the dropper or "breakaway" I never put my probe that close to the bottem and dont want to lose my sharks.

yes very cool indeed with the lights! Thats awesome! Happy Holidays Everyone

RR nailed it, its a fantailed trout. They get alot of them in the oswego river, and have seen one on a stringer at the oak before also. Cool looking fish if you ever get a chance to see one swimming.

IMO I think it depends on the boat and battery set up. I have my batteries in the rear of my boat with a fuse panel up under the dash. The riggers are all wired directly to the battery with moisture resistent inline fuses. Less wiring to run going directly to the battery and you mite run the risk of overloading your block if you bring up all 4 riggers at the same time or 2 at a time. Save the block for low draw items, subtroll, depthfinder, bliges, lights. just my 2 cents..... How do you have them wired now? Have you had any problems with them that way.

float fishing
Jax replied to lennybones's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Ha ha-- Is this guy serious? bobber fishing and float fishing are 2 TOTALLY different tactics..... Somedays floatfishing outproduces everything else on the creek. A nice juicy egg sac, made with home cured eggs, hand tied and drifted with a properly weighted split shot spread and presented correctly...you cant beat it! And were LOCKED>...... -
Iceman, I should have read more clearly. I was just checking out the site quick on the way to work. They are great tho, thats why I wanted to let him know about it. Once you get one you will never go back is the truth.

I would highly reccomend this unit along with the connector jimski was talking about. I have the bar that connects both engines so I can steer with the main but use this for my throttle control. It has such a range to really dial in the rpms for your speed. If you have any questions on install or operation let me know. This along with an autopilot makes for a easier day on the water for sure! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0030614018202a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=THROTTLE+CONTROLS&Ntk=Products&sort=all&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&_D%3Asort=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1

Ricky got me hooked on the crocs! They are the best thing for on the boat and around water.. -
I would definatly reccomend the ap14 it does Rock! This will be my second season with it and Im glad I made the investment. Just like Tim said you need all of the 10 inches of clearence at the helm and changing it out from rack and pinion to rotary was very easy. Gambler helped me install mine and we got it done in about 3-4 hrs. The extra features are nice on the 14- also simrad stands behind their stuff 100%. good luck

Thanks alot for the fast responses, Carpedium Thanks for the contact name I looked him up in the white pages and gave him a call unfortunatly he only stores boats up to 18 ft. I got a number to call from him tho, very nice guy. I want to have my boat out in early march if the weather is cooperative so Lake Ontario storage my be out of the question because he said april 1st at the earliest. I may end up checking out a place in webster--thanks again for the info guys March cant get here fast enough......
-
Hey Guys I am looking for Indoor Boat Storage for my 21 ft Lund. Fairly inexpensive and will let me get my boat out around the middle of march. I usually store my boat in a pole barn in brockport but he allready left for Florida for the winter. He usually lets me get it in around thankgiving...but he escaped early. Any info would be great guys..... Thanks again

Happy late bday musky! Hope you had a great day!

Sweet looking boat!! Your gona have a blast with it! Get us some more pictures of her all set up next spring!

Nice work on the fish Doug! The Oak is out of control, especially with how low it is. 20 plus people in the archers hole is to many. Hopefully with shotgun season being open it will slim the crowds down a bit. We can only hope.

Oh no My sources are exposed!!!! haha Yeah Jay told me about it while I was at work and almost lost it, I couldnt stop picturing it in my head. All for some oldy moldy salmon, amazing. I guess it shows what fishing will do to some people, the urge to just go fishing, unfortunatly it also effects the brains of some people. FINALLY HERE COMES>>>>THE >>>> RAIN>>>> yahoooooooooooooooooo
