  1. A good friend of mine fishes down there and saw some guys use an inflatable air mattress to cross over to the falls from the rge spot. They would cast over and reel them selves across with the dam cricket and 100 pound braid, Then when they were leaving they shot the rapids with 3 salmon and 2 guys on the air mattress. I wouldnt have believed it, if it was from anyone else......
  2. Carpedium and others I did not intend on it coming out as squarely and rough as I guess it did. People that know me TOM know that Im not like that. It was meant more for humor about you needing food etc. I fish sandy creek the majority of the winter-spring when the boats not in the water and this year I have seen such low water so far at the oak and sandy with alot of dead browns gutted on the banks along with some steelhead. I had just gotten back from fishing and seeing 2 dead browns up at church road that were gutted for their eggs and i guess it just hit me wrong seein 6 more browns dead thats all. Im all for keeping your limit, on my charters I reccomend they treat the browns like steelhead and keep only 1, does that happen all the time? No most clients want to keep their fish. It is just my suggestion which is the key word here for them to keep all the salmon they want and release the browns because I like to see em in the fall up the creeks. Lets relax here people this is an open forum for discussing things just like this. If any of you guys were offended I apologize.
  3. Most of the blades are silver prism with some colors striped over each blade. The blue and silvers,,,,all silvers,,,silver glow. Brass ones work on cloudy days with a copper colored kwikfish behind em. Just need to see whats working per day. Here off sandy creek I will start off with the crystalina watermelon in 5/0 size off one side and an all silver off the other in 5/0 size one with a peanut and the other with a spoon behind it. See if the fish you mark on your FF hit, and go from there. You can downsize to the 3/0 and 4/0 sizes when the fish arent cooperating on the larger blades. Try speeding up, slowing down etc....I have caught them going anywheres in the range of .8-3.0 downspeed Goodluck
  4. Did you really have to keep ALL of those browns? Are you in need of food THAT bad? If you are Im sure we can get some money together here from all the CATCH AND RELEASE trib fisherman on LOU to help you fill your fridge with something else than our browns. Where were you casting?
  5. To all and any that found this post in bad taste--- Dont take it personally Maniac, Duane, Rod Guys I apologize if you found this offensive. The term I saved those videos under "Pennsatucky" I happen to hear while I was at the oak that day and thats all that was was behind it........Not to demean anyone. These videos as I stated above were for all of us that fish by the books, diehards, weekend warriors etc of LOU for entertainment purposes..... The only people this video was cornering were the people flinging 2 oz dipsy sinkers on 50 pound braid with oversized hooks and impractical bait and calling it "FISHING" Its a comedy to watch this garbage take place every year.
  6. Great video billy! "Thats mid teens,,,,YEAH" haha I love this sport
  7. This is a tribute to kevin davis and getting locked up on Lake O. Thanks again Lou(get the net) for this picture its going to keep me sane this winter. Sorry for the size of the photo, I couldnt get the thumbnail setting in photobucket. Im ready for the 09 Lake O season allready.....
  8. I was doing some experiments with my aqua-vu camera yesterday with the nice weather we had. Walked back through sandy creeks shallows to video some oldy moldys and found this coho sitting on a salmon redd. http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q131/JDSAGE311/?action=view&current=InyourfaceCoho.flv This salmon was patient enough to let me film for a few then it takes off. http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q131 ... therun.flv Was pretty cool to watch them making there final run up the creek, I am still amazed at how far these fish travel from the lake and how much power they possess. I am getting used to using it so these are the first trials, the quality will be better as I use it more. I also bought the downrigger attachment so next year we should have some pretty sweet videos to come!!
  9. These are some videos I took during the meat harvest of 2008 at the Oak about a month ago. Check out all the gugenheimers with white fishing rods in the first video, they are the walmart salmon snagger special, they come rigged and ready to go. Pulled into the lot at the dam and saw maybe 2 NY license plates out of a full lot of cars. Always good for a good laugh if you are bored during sept-october. There was some guy down there selling 2 oz sinkers, HUGE hooks, bait(jensen eggs), renting rods etc....off a little wagon. He asked me if I wanted to rent a rod because I just had my camera with me......said " That the fishings be good I allready caught me my limit" Not that any of this surprises me, but I just do not understand getting excited for this kind of fishing. I witnessed SO many snagged salmon, small fights breaking out, trash left and littered, people walking out with eggs and no fish....people fishing with a rigs that you could use to bottem fish with in 100 ft of water off a party boat fishing a wreck. Im glad to see it thinnin out so we can get into the real tributary season.... http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q131/JDSAGE311/?action=view&current=Pennsatucky1.flv http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q131/JDSAGE311/?action=view&current=Pennsatucky2.flv http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q131/JDSAGE311/?action=view&current=Pennsatucky4.flv
  10. I Found Batmans grappling hook wedged between some rocks at the genny a couple weeks back, anyone want to go rock climbing or scale a building like a true spy? 5/0 treble with an ounce of weight on the shank, it was rigged with 100# braid -wth  Most of the masses/meathunters have finally cleared out cus the salmon have thinned out

  12. You will not find a better downrigger rod for the money. They run about $30.00 a rod and come in different lengths and actions. I highly reccomend them, you will not be dissapointed. I have 5 seasons on a few and they are still ready to go for next season. Just a link I found off google http://www.brettsplaceonthebay.com/items/2544100-PARENT
