You will not be sorry for buying Scottys, The new Cannon High speeds are worth a look and are a very nice downrigger but I still highly reccomend the Scottys. They are powerful and fast, and less things to go wrong with them.

The unit I installed is a AP14R which stands for ROTARY steering cable system. Most newer teleflex or similar steering systems are rotary or hydraulic you have to check your own application. The unit was around 1200.00 and I had to buy a replacement steering cable which was another 140.00. You will have to check your application but the above, added together with about 4 hours install time with the help of a friend and your in business. The unit is great, works very well on my 21 Lund with an outboard. Was out today in 3s and it held course great. Definatly worth the investment.

Stinger and fly combo by A-tom-ik
Jax replied to CaptSpike's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Spike That makes sense versus running the spoon behind the flasher. Running the spoon stacked above the Flasher fly combo (mupped)somedays thats a good tool to run as your deeper set to draw fish in to your spread. Works really good when the temp/fish are down 50 fow and deeper. Try and match similar color schemes together when you run them that close of the same rod. Run the flasher fly short of your ball 12-15 and stack the spoon a minimum of 10 ft above that. good luck -
I just got back from a family vacation and didnt get time to post these pics from last weekend before we left. Doubled up!! His ended up a high teen I just boated mine first. We took 3 around 20 that day with the biggest being 24 and change. Its only a matter of time before were combat trolling. Good luck the rest of the derby everyone!

Can someone identify the fish all the way to the left?
Jax replied to Yankee Troller's topic in Fishing Pictures
Haha now that was funny. How did that get on your boat. I thought there was a force field around it to prevent that. Nice job Laker Taker -
I reccomend Martins Marina also, great service which is hard to come by these days. Usually carry a good selection of pre owned and new lund boats. http://www.martinsmarina.com/

congrats on the fish, and no water spouts! That spoon is a the diehard blank, I run the NK version, it seems to have the best glow and work the best. Great multi species spoon. Nice report! -
After a 2 week break from fishing due to needed boat maintanence I finally got out this morning. The bad news I had a couple guys coming up for a trip and I havent been on the water in weeks! From talking to a few people prior to getting on the water I knew the fishing was gonna be tougher than normal without prefishing at all. My party today was interested in getting into big lake fishing and setting up aboat for it and I think they got a good lesson on how drastic it can change with lake and wind conditions. Left the dock at Sandy at 600 and fished till around noon, ended up 11 for 18. We fished from the creek to the pump house in 200-340 fow. Dropped quite a few fish today including a big king that got to 650 out on the wire quicker than I have seen before. Had to turn on it to gain and after we fought it for 20 minutes it finally got the better of us at the back of the boat. The fish said its good byes, by jumping a few times after words showing its girth and length giving me and my party nitemares to come in the future for sure of the "big one that got away". Highlights included a beautiful domestic rainbow with full colors about 7-8 pounds. Also the first rod to go today was a 4 pound steelhead and a skippy king on the same rod. Final Count Caught was 3 kings 3 lakers and 5 steelhead with the biggest king being 18lbs and steelhead were 4 - 10lbs They had a great time despite the changing weather/waves we had. Hot combos were the wire dipseys out 300-340 on a 2 set with various green flasher/spin doc patterns. The riggers were steady all day with the wires taking over by mid morning. Out again tomm.

Hey tom About your net......I think you should put a screw in it, seems thats your "go to" fix. Last time you were out with me, you left your hat in my truck, I sold it to someone but ending up owing them money?? Nice job on the fish.
